have the machine perform a paper path test with just 1 copy to see if this jams then have it path test 5 prints to see when it jams- if its only jamming when more than one sheet is being printed then the fault lies with the paper pick up ( you may notice a longer delay for first print)
the machine will attemp to feed three times before failing as a jam
if the machine is printing more than one sheet then the jam appears just before the tail end of the first print exits the fuser (fixing Unit).
clean or replace the feed rollers.
if the jam happens on every print and the code is 13:02/3
then paper pass sensor arm 2 has stuck (look on you tube to resolve this search for lj4200 13:02 jam)
hope this helps- if you are still unable to get the machine working and your willing to pay then I would suggest Belmonte Buisiness machines
are a good company to deal with they are on 0161 480 5556 and can call out anywhere in the UK
Where is it jamming, which draw are you using have you tried different draws or the by pass tray? Does it jam when copying versa printing? Have the draw rollers been cleaned? jamming in the fuser the hot part or under the drum before the fuser?
The jamming with the copy half way thru is almost always a broken fuser drive gear. The unit that gets hot as the paper exits the machine. Check the back side of this unit. You will see a gear, or part of a gear that is about 1.5 inches across. Either that gear breaks or the cog inside of it shears off and this causes the fuser not to turn. Very inexpensive part at less than $15 and pretty easy to change.
As far as the fingerprints go you most likely touched the drum surface. You may have to remove it again and clean your fingerprints off the drum with a soft cloth.
Ok if the paper is half way coming out, Two things could be happening. 1.) Either your paper feed tires are Slipping and haven't reached the outpit bin sensor in time. 2.) second problem could be is that the fuser film is worn and is not fuser correctly and needs to be replaced.
Loud clacking sound, jamming in fuser ? sounds like the gear that turns the fuser are bad and not meshing together,
accordion jam is the fingers or claws that ride on the fuser roller are probably worn out ( these can be replaced usually 3-5 ).
You can buy the parts and replace them yourself if a handy person, not that difficult.
1-you need to determine if the two are part of the same problem
If the jamming occured first with no signs of copy quality issues then, it depends on where it's jamming. Locate the 1st jammed paper, the one that is furthest towards the exit. this stops all other paper after it. for example if there are papers in the fuser -by the drum and coming out if the tray the problem is most likely in the fuser area. Are the papers being crumbled? or just stop at that location?
2-the half dark copies could be a couple of things
a) the seperation unit is going bad and making the copies rise up against the drum
b)does the lamp that come on to scan the original stay on the whole lenght of the paper or does it turn off half way down the page? if yes the cable that connects to the lamp is probably broken and not making contact at the half way point as it is scanning.
If it is clear thin plastic like saran wrap, then that is probably the fuser roller sleeve.
The only way to repair that is replacing the rollers or fuser unit.
That would be a cause for the jamming also.
Replacing the fuser unit or the fuser rollers will probably require a service technician to come in to replace these parts.
Most copier companies do not make the fuser unit customer replaceable except for a very few makes and models.
Sorry I couldnt give you some more information.
I hope this information still helped you a bit.
Is it getting thru the "pinch of the fuser and catching on the stripper fingers? If so clean the fingers, ensure they are not worn or tips broken.(Running sheets with dark lead edge can cause sheets to stick to rollers, try running blank sheets to clean up, if they get thru then try normal copies) If the sheet stops before entering the rolls more likely to be dirty entry chute, drive problem or sensor problem....need more detail
