The stock wiring harness harness just plugs into the end of the ingtion module and the coil sits on top of it, It sounds like you don'nt have the intion module and you might not have the platform that it sits on as when thier sold used at the junkyard the coil pac and the module are sold together along with the platforn.
This is just one of the 3 coils used or yours could be the Magnavox system
It bolts to the module too but it wires to the module
These tabs you see connect to the module and the wires don't show as it bolts directly to the module. one side is all linked together as ground and the other side are the three cyclinder pair wires.
This is the Magnavox, any Gm dealers parts dept can tell you which one yours came with but you'll need to give them the VIN so they can figure which one it was built with.
This is the one that the Delco single coils bolt to, notice the tabs that stick out the bottom that the three coils bolt to The plug will fit to both but the delco setup costs a little less. It's best to buy this peice at a junk yard as if they took it off the motor or other system might not be working also and you'll have alot of money in it and it'll still not run. These engines were well known for the timing chain to go out then the cam signal does'nt tripper the conputer at the right time and the car won't run. Most of these cars are gone because of the cost of doing this kind of repair work they just junk em when this problem happens as it's worth more that the car to fix it. The mag navox coil is over 80 bucks the module is 80 bucks too if some one cut the plug off too them the plug cost 125 bucks and my store does'nt have it The delco coils cost 86.01 for three. As you can see the parts you don't have are worth more than this car is worth running on the open used car market. The cars worth 200-500 dollars and is driven by the price of scrape metal.
