My Dell Latitude has Video issues please help

OK i received this pc from a user to find that all you could see was $ signs on the screen, i reformatted and reloaded the Operating system. which works for when its fully booted but when it shows the bios splash screen the dollar signs and red lines are still there, the RAM is known good, Harddrive is known good, pressing on the screen doesn't change the discoloration or patterns. i think the integrated video card is going but i was hoping to find a different answer or maybe something i overlooked. please help. PS the warranty ran up :(

I have a dell latitude D620, you can't reseat the graphics card because it's integrated with the motherboard.

SOURCE: Error code 2000-0146 in device Hard Drive 1

I just had this same problem a few weeks ago. This error code means you have a bad sector in your hard drive which is cheap and easy to fix. You just need to unscrew the bottom screws holding your hard drive in and place the old cover on the new hard drive you buy. Screw that new one in and reload your programs. Your computer will be as good as knew after that. Look on your invoice to get the hard drive specs so you can buy a new one or just enter your service tag on the dell site and check out the specs of the ones they offer for upgrade.

I have a Dell Latitude D510 PC Notebook i want to connect to my tv but when i press fn and f8 it says unsupportive.. im running vga cord... and its not the cord cause my dell desktop works fine.. please...

Try adjusting the resolution, if you right click on the desktop and go to properties/settings and move the slider in the screen resolution (xp users/ if using a different OS you are looking to adjust the screen resolution). the issue happens because your laptop most probably does not not support 1080 but it will support 720 which sadly means u can not project fully on the TV. good luck

When i turn my computer dell latitude d620 on it comes to the dell screen then the windows xp screen and then it goes black with nothing more than the mouse. what could be the problem?

This sounds like a video issue. Try starting the system into safe mode (after the dell screen, tap F8 to get the startup menu and then select safe mode) When in safe mode, go to the control panel and remove the display adapter driver from the device manager under System > hardware tab. Try booting into normal mode windows- you should be able to get into windows at that point. Download and reinstall the graphics driver from support.dell.com. If the issue reoccurs after you've reinstalled the graphics driver, it means that the video card on your system has gone out. At that point, contact Dell technical support if you are in warranty to get service- if not, try pricing the replacement video card from Ebay or Dell parts service.

Change settings

You have to sign in as the old user. go to Start - Control Panel - Users, create the one you want, and then log off and log in as the new user and then go to Users and delete the old one and that's it. You can add a password and a picture as well.
Please keep in mind that you will loose the old files the user had.
I hope this helps. Please don't forget to rate and provide positive feedback for our fast-free support today. Thank you :D

Dell latitude D610 back light dos,t on i check my inverter or balk light both are OK working properly another laptop issue in my motherboard please help what i,m doing. i,m a technical person.

Ok I am guessing since you are looking at the inverter and backlight tube you have a no video issue. If you have tested both of them on another pc you may try pulling the lcd screen and placing it in your second laptop. If you are thinking your lcd screen is good start running down the solder points where the inverter connects to the mainboards power grid. Check voltage powerr in and out of the inverter plug too.

System won't start up.

OK, your system appears to be posting but you have a NO VIDEO issue. Most likely the issue is a backlight failure of the LCD screen. If available, you can connect an external monitor to the VGA port and press FN+F8 to toggle between the LCD and the External screen (Wait 15 seconds between toggles)
The components are fairly easy to replace and available on Ebay.

Dell Latitude D620, Black Screen/Power On

It is the backlight! That laptop uses a fluorescent lamp. It is bad.
If you look carefully at the screen, you will see the Windows desktop (or whatebver you are running). It just needs to be lit up.... from the back. Tel them to replace the LCd screen or replace the lamp.

Hope this helps!
