Screen flashes "Lens cap"

With lense cover removed,  screen flashes "remove lense cover".  The screen remains blank and grey.
I have closed, opened, shut off restarted, charged the battery and read the manual.  What am I doing wrong?

Gopro hero screen is blank and the red light stays on

when you insert a battery into a hero3 or 3+ black model you must wait 4 seconds before trying to turn it on or it wont turn on until you remove the battery and then reinsert it while waiting 4 seconds to try and power it up:

Dsc-P52 lens cover sticking

You need to go in and physically open the lens cover.
1. take out batteries 2. remove memory card + the small phillips screw.
3. remove the 3 remaining exterior screws. carefully with a small flat tip screwdriver pry the plastic halves slowly. eventually they will come apart. 4. at the bottom remove the small ribbon cable. 5. disconnect the mini motor wire, black and red. 6. unscrew the motor drive for the lens cover and then open the lens. 7. purchase a new lens cover motor. 8. If your screen still says turn off , then press menu and delete some files. good luck ! Work Slowly and carefully and ground your hands to a pipe somewhere before working on the unit. the static electricity could ruin the circuits !

Protective lense shutter is stuck partially closed, causing black corners in the photos. How do I fix this, or remove the shutter completely?

This blog post outlines repair procedures for stuck lens covers. An A400 is used as an example. But for the A610, you might want to extend your zoom all the way out before removing the camera's batteries. Note that the A610 has four shutter leaves instead of two, so pay particular attention how they're assembled if you remove the lens ring. Also you'll be applying the ring loosening rubbing alcohol around the barrel's perimeter instead of the front as shown in the procedures. One other thing, try not to get any alcohol on the lens itself:

Good luck, and remember to do this only as a very last resort (try the other listed procedures first). Oh, and if you do decide to try the repair, please post how it went.

Lens cap?

Try removing the battery, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. That may reset the lens cap sensor.

Hp photosmart r725 6.2 megapixels.

If you're getting the 18-4489-957-000 error code, then give it a good tap on the corner where the lens cap is. A little tapping and the lens cover should pop closed. When you turn the camera on again it will probably work just fine.

I was just about to junk my camera when I googled the error code and found this very tip in another thread. It worked like a charm.

Blue blank screen

this sounds a lot like the infamous "lens cap" error, common with many models. check this out - http://www.fixya.com/problems-solutions/t102431,p398108/JVC-GR-DF450-Mini-DV-Digital-Camcorder.aspx I can't figure out If this model is on the list, I'm guessing there should be more to the model name here. Anyway, if you contact them you might learn its a free repair. Good luck

No display in record mode on Samsung VP-D31

Sounds like you may have a problem in the auto iris curcuit or the auto settings was switched to manual and the lens is closed. Check first to see that the lens is setup in auto mode. If it is then the auto iris as i said before is bad or stuck closed unless the small caps in that curcuit went bad as they always do after a few years. Good Luck
