Question about HP Pavilion DV5234US Notebook Laptop
You must (1) create your recovery DVD's first before blowing the operating system away - doing this will enable you at a latter stage to reinstall vista latter if xp doesn't work. Go to All Programs >> Recovery Manager >> Create recovery DVD's (2) burn a copy of your software setup folder from your OS. Make a note from device manager the make of specific hardware like wifi manufacture, modem, audio, video, webcam ect. you can sometimes go to the manufactures website to chase drivers. Some of the drivers are backwards compatible with xp.
There is no code for loading xp onto your laptop or changes in bios - there are eprom settings but that is held in confidence with Hp and you can't get them without a special dos based program for you'll **** up the bios no end.
The version of Xp you use must be SATA Supported - it's that simple. Older versions of Xp that is IDE will not detect SATA drives.
