I have one in my motorhome and there are two screws you have to take out. They put two black metal plates in to hold the unit from sliding out. I only found out yesterday as I was trying to get it out to see the model number. Just look up in behind it and you'll see the two screws holding it in place. Those brackets are affixed to the back of the coffee maker. Once you take the screws out now the coffee maker comes out of the guides freely.

Actually, you just need to push up on the bottom to get the unit to go over the tabs on top of the brackets. Push up and the unit will slide forward. I just did this to mine (it quit working after 5 years-was a refurbed unit and I will try to fix it) and have it out. Suggest you remove the carafe first and be sure you unplug from the outlet.

Grasp the coffeee maker assemby firmly and pull it froward (away from the wall). The The unit willl slide slightly forward in the hanging brackets leaving about 1/4 in of space exposed between the front of the hanging bracket and the main assembly. Insert a kitchen knife of flat-bladed screwdriver into that narrow space until you are pushing the plastic hanging bracket catch inwards, holding it there. If you are working alone, alternate this maneuver on the right and left sides while maintaining forward pulling pressure on the main assembly . It will eventually slide forward and out of the hanging brackets. It will be far easier and faster if you have a helper to help you push in both hanger bracket clips at the same time while keeping forward pulling pressure on the coffee maker. , because no one has three hands. Done this many times

I have a spacemaker that leeks at resover

Used/Cannibaliized Replacement parts for ODC 325 B&D Spacemaker Coffee Makers are regularly sold on eBay, including the entire water reservoir or even the water valve in bottom of the reservoir (the leaky old one can be pushed out from the inside of the reservoir, and a non-leaking used replacement valve can be pressed in in its place).I sometimes buy an old broken ODC 325 cheaply on eBay as a source of parts.

I have a Black and Decker ODC 460--it has been recalled BUT they want the data on the back of the unit. It is suspended from a cabinet and though they suggest it can be removed from the mounting kit...

The Use and Care Manual for your product can be found here:

1. To remove unit from mounting bracket (for service or cleaning), first remove the thermal carafe. Slide your hand under the unit for support. Slide unit forward on its track guides to remove.

2. To replace the unit, slide it onto mounting bracket and all the way back until it locks into place.

Your right that they do not provide any specific instruction on whether there is a lock to release. I suspect you need to lift the unit up in the tracks before you pull forward.

Water resevoir leaking

Replacement ODC 325 water reservoirs no longer for sale.
I keep a second ODC 325 machine for canibalization. The black rubber water valve assambly can be repaired (I did it 2 weeks ago) but it takes some creativity.

Allen screw B&D spacemaker ODC325

By sticking a small screwdriver where the pin is inside the torx type fastener, I was able to break the pin. Then a torx 10 or 15 will easily unscrew the screw. Maybe an allen wrench would as well, if it would fit.

A rather costly 35 dollars or so (plus shipping) heating element incl thermostat is available, if indeed that is the problem. You might as well find someone selling a used unit on ebay, after paying that much.

Abtec and coffee maker parts

I agree that abtec isn't cheap when it comes to shipping costs, but they're the only company I've found that even offers repair parts for the ODC325. If you don't want to buy just the thermostat, the entire heating element + thermostat is available as well, in which case you just unplug the old unit and plug in the new unit. Soldering the thermostat isn't that hard if you're handy with a soldering iron.
