That will depend on how much you use it and treat it ?

Toshiba's line of Satellite PC laptops offers a variety of screen s that are customizable when ordered online. The laptops offer built-in webcams and backlit keyboards. Most Toshiba Satellite laptops use six-cell lithium-ion batteries that can last up to six hours. To reach that six-hour mark, you can use several tricks to maximize your battery's capacity.

Charge your battery completely before its first use.
Check your user manual for the exact charging time required, which is typically at least 12 hours. Discharge your battery completely every two months. Allow it to drain fully before recharging it. Recharge it completely, for at least 12 hours before using it again. Remove CDs and DVDs from your laptop's drive when not in use. These drives spin when loaded, which can drain your battery unnecessarily. Set your laptop to hibernate mode when you need to take a break. This conserves more power than standby. Store your laptop battery in a cool place. Never let the battery sit in direct sunlight or leave it in your car on a hot day. For even longer battery life, remove the battery from the laptop which can get hot while in use when you are plugged in. Turn off your Wi-Fi connection when not in use. Constantly searching for a Wi-Fi connection can drain your battery faster. Work in only one program at a time. The more programs you have open, the faster your battery will drain. Unplug any USB devices, especially those that charge when plugged in, such as your cellphone. These will drain your battery quickly. Dim your Satellite's screen to conserve battery. Hold down your "Fn" key and tap "F6" several times to dim the screen. The "F6" key should show an open circle with small lines radiating out, to symbolize a dim display.
Hope this helps.

Make your Lithium Laptop Battery last longer.

Hello folks,

Although I usually offer advice on backing up files or recovering them, I have been asked a lot lately how my 3 year old laptop still runs 1:45mins on a standard battery when many peoples 1-2 year old laptops can barely last an hour.

Simply put, most people do one of two things wrong. Both are common misconceptions and easy to remedy. First I've heard countless people tell me they pop the battery out of their laptop and toss it in the desk drawer until needed, often months. Second I have been told by more people than I can count that they leave their laptop plugged in 24/7 for most of the year.

Bottom line, although popping it out and leaving it in the drawer is less harmful to it's lifespan, both ideas are wrong.

The shelf life of most unused lithium batteries is shorter when unused than ones being used properly. The lifespan of a battery that is constantly being trickle charged is even shorter.

Most batteries in modern laptops are 4-6 cells, designed to give about 2 hours of charge and should last 3-5 years with charge life starting to degrade in the third year.

A "stored battery" has only 3 years of shelf life due to extended times sitting discharged and one that is trickle charged 24/7 may burn out in as little as a year.

Many laptop manufacturers have taken measures to improve this but ultimately the best thing for your battery is to use it. If you currently run you laptop plugged in 24/7, unplug it every night after you shut it off, then when you start it in the morning, let it run an hour before plugging it back in. This will give the battery both down time and exercise.

If your battery is in a drawer somewhere for safe keeping, put it back in the laptop, run it down then charge it over night and run it down then recharge it one more time. Store it back in the drawer charged and repeat the cycle at least once a month.

These tips will help drastically improve you batteries performance over time. My 3 year old laptop only ever got 2 hours of battery life and still gets 1:45 with no power saving measures, give it a try.

It would be helpful if we knew the Make, Model of Laptop and the OS you are using. Most likely it just needs a little clean up/tune up using some freeware programs and speed up tips. I have 2 laptops, 6 years old, 7 years old.

My acer 4250 laptop is completely dead. what to do?

Charge up the battery, and if that doesn't work, change the battery if older than a year or two.
I've had to purchase a few batteries in the past few years for my Acer laptop from Ebay.com due to the fact that they don't seem to last very long before they won't take a charge.

It seems like every 6 months to 1 year to 1.5 years I have to change my laptop battery.

Other than that, my Acer seems to have held up pretty well considering I upgraded several components.

I would buy again.

Warranty for acer aspire 5920

You need to call Acer regarding this legal things and issues.

However, this is what's actually happening.

When your dealer bought Acer laptops (or any other laptop) Acer gave them (your dealer) 3 years warranty coverage. But your dealer will sell them and cover 1 year of warranty since the laptops they bought are just stored in their locations which are already consuming the warranty period that Acer gave them.
