Not sure, but consider it just like a regular land line phone. So connect the line to the modem and plug a phone to the line port. You should get dial tone. The modem may need to re-seated or re-installed if there is no dial tone.

You can replace the CMOS battery yourself. Open the case to the computer and you will see a small round battery similiar to a watch battery. Its about the size of a quarter. Thats what you need to replace. email firstname.lastname@example.org if any other questions.

You need to check the RAM that is the first causes of beeping your system unit. Try to remove the RAM and clean the dust and re insert it. Try to use the other memory slot. You can try it 3 times. Thank you!

Try opening up the case of the computer. And you will notice a small button cell in the motherboard. Try replacing that, as the cell might be out of voltage which actually power ups the display.
