The iPod Shuffle is one of the smallest MP3 players available. But with no screen and no buttons it is easy to see why you may find it difficult to use and, indeed, set up. In order to set the iPod Shuffle up, the first and most important thing that you should have is the latest version of iTunes running on your computer. Once you have this, and have followed a few steps, setting up the iPod Shuffle is really not too challenging.

Connect to the Internet and download the latest version of iTunes from the iTunes website. http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/ Plug your iPod into your computer's USB port using the USB lead provided with your iPod Shuffle. Create a name for your iPod and type it into the "Name" box in the iPod setup window that appears on your screen. Check, or leave blank depending on how you wish to manage your iPod, the check boxes next to "Automatically sync songs to my iPod" and "Enable VoiceOver" below the "Name" box on the screen. Click on the "Done" tab in the bottom right of the screen when you have finished. Leave "Automatically sync songs to my iPod" unchecked and import songs manually by clicking on the "Music" header in the left-hand column and dragging the songs you want on your iPod into your named iPod file in the left hand-column, underneath "Devices." Alternatively, click in the "Music" tab and sync your songs by checking the boxes by specific artists, playlists and genres. Click on the "Apply" button in the bottom right-hand corner once you have chosen your settings. Click on the "Sync" tab in the bottom right corner when you have selected the music you wish to add if you have decided to add songs manually. Eject your iPod by clicking on the upward-pointing arrow to the right of your iPod's symbol underneath the "Devices" header on the left-hand side of the screen once it has finished syncing. Unplug your USB lead when the "OK to Disconnect" bar has finished loading at the top of the screen. Hope it helps.

Because Telstra mobiles stopped using 2G sets I tried to purchase another mobile from my Aldi Store but was told they do not sell them now.

telstra switch of the 2 g network today
if you bought a 2g wireless in the last few months knowing that the network was being switched off ( your problem) or a retailer sold you a 2g phone knowing that it would be useless after today , you have recourse for a refund or a replacement phone that uses 3g or higher
woolworths (bigW ) jb-hifi, harvey norman, good guys, telstar shops, optus, vodafone ,allphones and heaps of other retailers sell 3g phones
you can get then contracted to a particular provide or free or pay as you go (prepaid )where you by a card every month
If you had a 2g phone on a telstra account you would have got a 3g complimentary phone free from telstar

I have a toshiba satellite A135-S4467 laptop, using two memory slots, totaling 1G. I've bought a Kingston ValueRAM - 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 Laptop Memory Module. What is the best way to install my new 2G...

Hi, Yes, it would be best to take the old RAM out. I am assuming that this is 1 stick totalling 2GB. Optimally it would be good to have 2 x 1GB modules totaling 2GB, so they could work together. Otherwise, yes, just remove the the old ram and install the new module. If you are running a 32bit operating system, 3GB is all the system can use anyway. Hope this helps!

Seems like your phone is functioning correctly.

You have disabled wi-fi so it is asking whether you wish to use Phone Data Connection instead. (Standard Practice when trying to access data services)

What you need to do is un-tick the option in options Use only 2g networks. (3g is the mobile data service) That should then allow you to access Mobile Data. (3g)

Also enable data enabled

Severe crackling during recording

.i assume the crackle you'r getting it when you are using the built in mics? i;m still in the process of troubleshooting my 2g but this is what I've got so far....the line in dosn't suffer from the crackel, so it cracked here open , didn't see any obvious problems on the board so i disconnected the black wire from one of the built in mics and this is what i found: odd and strange..... the crackle went away but i haven't tested that in depth yet 2. when recording it looked like i was getting some thing on both tracks odd.. thought 1 channel would be dead. anyway i got tired and put it away and haven't gotten back to it yet but about time i did so hopefully this weekend . hopefully i'll have some more useful info.. now a note on my take so fare as to where the crackle is coming from , bear in mind i've only had about 3 hours with the 2g so far so still getting acquainted. i'm getting the feeling it might be associated with the ACG or the record level auto calibration or clipping etc.. because i noticed that it seems like its starting ,checking levels, and setting things the a spike and it resets and starts over again. how ever the pattern is to random from what I've seen so far to to be anything concrete

Call up tmobile, do not tell them you have a rooted phone or that it was modified in anyway, otherwise they will blame it. They will be able to help you get it working by modifying / adding some settings in your phone.

Hi, i just bought a motorola razr v3 phone online. Its stated that it only support 2G and not 3G format. my sim card is in 3G? What can i do?

It should still work if your provider still supports 2g. my 3g hero can still talk to a 2g network. Try it. The worst that can happen is it won't work.

Try reformatting the yamaha 2G Pocketrak using the setting under Common. THe online manual mentions that if one uses the PCM setting for a lot of recording, it's a good idea to reformat more often.

Upgrade to 2g memory

If its a desktop it should be fine with two 1 gb sticks. Check to see how much ram is being shared for video. You can see that in the bios setting. Not sure how much can be shared but it may read differently depending how much system ram is being shared for onboard memory.

New card

According to the instructions that came with the camera, it states that a maximum of 256 mb memory card is allowed. So, 1G amd 2G memory cards won't work. Like you, I bought a 2G memory card, getting the same message that the card was full so when I checked the manual, I saw my mistake. Live and Learn! I should have checked the manual BEFORE I bought this card. Now I have to go out and buy the 256 mb memory card (and I'll save the 2G card for a new camera that I hope to buy in the future).yankeefloridian@yahoo.com
