Re: "I left an ink cartridge in the machinefor over a year and the printer womt print."

That is normal, ink had clogged on the printhead and now the nozzles are blocked it wont print.

Only way to fix this is by removing the print head and leaving into isopropyl alcohol solution overnight, if that does not work , you will need to replace the printheads.

First clean the encoder strip carefully. Give one time service..
Although refilling ink cartridges can help you save some money, there is no confirmation that a refilled cartridge will work properly. This is because on each tank, there is a chip which communicates with the printer, telling the printer how much ink is left. When you refill a cartridge, the chip's status will still think it's empty and this could be why your printer is still displaying the Low Ink status.
I won’t recommend you to use third party ink cartridges, ink refills or continuous ink system as they are not wired by the manufacturer themselves and could possibly damage your device.
Your warranty will also be void.

Thank you.........

Try hard reset .

Unplug the unit from power chord for 30 minutes and plug back the power chord to the unit .
This will reset your unit .

When the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect a print cartridge.

Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.

1. Open the top cover of the printer.

2. Remove the print cartridges.

3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.

5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

6. Close the top cover.

7. Try printing again.

Installed a new cartridge and no imaging is printing on photo paper

Sounds like Blocked Nozzle heads assuming its making the correct noises when press "print" If Not
First ensure connected correctly:
Control panel / Devices and printers / select printer ( make sure its the default printer) right click on printer properties : Print test page.
Next repeat but right click Printing Preferences / maintenance / Nozzle check then Head cleaning.
This generally works with printers used fairly regularly.
Where printers left for long periods may have to resort to removing offending cartridge/s and using a syringe with warm water and flexible tubing to clear blocked print head (gently !) Kitchen towel underneath the print head will show when ink / water is clear. Usually have to replace with new cartridges :Then use nozzle check.

Changed cartridge, received a code "P", says to install a new cartridge, but I just did install. Will not allow to do a clean print head.

hi, first turn the printer off and unplug it and let set for 30 mins. Ig that doesn't work try taking the cartridge out and reaching inside where you put the cartridges go and clean the print head with alcohol with a q-tip.

Can anyone help me with a Code:P on a Epson PrinterMate Deluxe 500 with a Print Pack T5570? OK so while trying to clean the print heads many times it gives me a Code:P and says to replace the cartridg

My main thought is why do you need to clean the print head so much, because on nearly all Epson machines I have come across actually use up ink during the cleaning process and if you clean the head too often you empty the cartridges, which are not exactly huge capacity in the first place, very quickly. The circuit board/chip on the cartridge records the amount of ink used, and a lot of cleaning may run one of the colours out. I give below a link to the Epson site which has a number of links about your printer which may help. I found the Product Information Guide quite good, especially the last few pages which referred to the head cleaning.

I have also found the following company very good for inks, both original and compatible. (Having seen the price of Epson original cartridges I'm not surprised you are a little miffed about their lack of longevity!!!

Why are pictures are coming out pink

Usually, if the colors are off when you're printing, it just means you're running low on ink, or your ink has sat unused for too long. Either refill or replace your ink cartridges, and your print outs should be their proper colors again.

Even with a new cartridge it says empty cartridge and won't print

are you using a generic ink cartridge? and just for added information, picturemate cartridges or so some epson inks do have expiration dates, pls check because if you have them stored for quite sometime the tendency is that the inks will harden up. then it will not distribute ink to your nozzle.

another thing troubleshooting steps, have you tried to perform a cleaning cycle? try to do it for about 4 or 5 times. then try to print. pls be advised that it will take in a certain amount of inks to clear the cloggs and force it out.

or before installation of the cartridge, did you shake them? for about 5 times then insert it back

Hello! I don't use my Epson PictureMate as often

That is a problem with the Ink jet printers. Lack of use causes the cartridges/heads, etc. to dry up. You're only solution (I'm afraid) is to replace them.
TIP: If you're typically not using the printer for several days or even week(s) at a time, it never hurts to print a single (low coverage) page of colour every few days just to keep the ink flowing

Please advice why my epson picturemate 500 is not printing photos properly?

Take the ink-cartridge out, shake it only very lightly and put it back in the printer. Turn it on and go to the options section and run the printhead cleaner option and alignment, this might make it work properly. Good Luck
