SOURCE: two little white bright dots

these are lit pixels! which can only be caused by a bad dmd chip (the micro-mirror-device). the chip can be replaced but it requires an experienced technitian to align the chip so your picture is straight, centered and in focus.

SOURCE: toshiba satellite a135 monitor goes black

You could have a defective screen - a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen or video card problem, read this and follow the instructions.

Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom:

  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

SOURCE: brightness pop-up window on screen for a long long time

There are a few things that could be wrong; someone could have a remote and be messing you about, a button could be stuck on the monitor so its increasing, the computer could be slow or signals might be getting mixed up. try and figure it out based on what ive said. good-luck!

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

In such cases, we have to ensure that it is not the input device that is causing this problem. So, please switch your input device to something you are sure, works. If you notice same problem, look for loose contacts in inter connecting cables and jacks. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

My tv's screem is little dark

Hello
If you set the lamp mode to LOW POWER, each time you turn ON the TV the lamp will start out at HIGH BRIGHT mode, but will switch to Low Power mode after a short period of time. You may notice a change in screen brightness when this happens. This is not a malfunction.
Just check whether you have selected this mode. Go to its user manual [P57]. All details are there about the lamp brightness settings. If it is not set to Low Power and still you get a dim picture, the lamp may be weak and has to be repaced. OK.

It is normal for your TV to take a few moments to reach a brightness level that you can enjoy. A typical Mercury vapor lamp will take amout 2 minutes before it reaches it's optimal brightness. It will continue to increase slightly about 10 minutes longer, but you will not see those subtle changes. So, your TV is functioning as it should, just enjoy the show. If you want to learn a little more about the Mercury Vapor lamp it your TV, please check out my Tips & Tricks. I hope this was of some assistance.

Horizontal stripes & a buzzing screen

When it does this, can you press on the back of the screen and get any change? If so, then you have a loose screen connection. If not, then you most likely have a bad or failing screen that will eventually go out completely. The thing is, if it's a failing screen, it may last years, or it may go out the next time you turn it on. You can never tell with them. I'm betting on a loose connection.
