If you are using an Eltron printer, and you have not installed the printer driver, follow the instructions below. You must install the driver provided below. The driver provided with your printer will not work with UPS Internet Shipping.
Installing the Eltron Thermal Printer
Make sure you have set up your thermal printer equipment, cables, and thermal labels as described in your UPS Thermal Printer documentation.
The following instructions will help you download and install the UPS Thermal Printer driver program (UPS_319_117.EXE) to your selected directory.
Select the Download the UPS Thermal Printer Driverlink below.
When prompted by the File Download - Security Warning dialogue box to choose Run, Save, or Cancel, choose Run. When prompted by the Unknown Publisher Security Warning, "Are you sure you want to run this software?", choose Run.
Select Unzip to extract the files. Once files are extracted, select OK and then select Close to close the window.
Navigate to C:UPSDrivers and double-click the file setup.exe to start the Installation Utility.
Select the language to install.
When prompted, select the Printer Interface you will be using, then click Next.
USB Connection or Other Connection and click Next. You will be prompted to choose your printer model from a list. Click Next after choosing your printer model and the driver will install.
This is an easy printer to fix since there is only one control button. Turn the printer off. Hold the green feed key down while turning the printer on; once the red light begins flashing, let go of the feed button. This will do three things: the printer will calibrate with the installed media, it will print a configuration label and the printer will go into dump mode. Press the feed key again. One more label will come out with with the words "Out of Dump" printed at the top. If the printer still fails to print, remove the ribbon and try the same procedure with direct thermal labels (UPS or FedEx). From there, consult the manual for more troubleshooting tips.
Turn off the printer and place your finger on the green feed button. With the button depressed, turn the printer back on. Let the light flash (ONLY!) four times and release the button. Printer will cycle through 2-3 labels. Press the feed button one more time. You've just set the printer back to factory default and dumped whatever settings where mucking it up. If this doesn't fix you, it is an issue between the software you are using (? what kind is it?) and the printer driver.

The quick and simple answer is to use a different driver instead of the 2488 driver that UPS provides, that is where the problem lies.. Under printer properties, Advanced Tab, I changed the printer driver to Zebra S4MDT-200dpi and now the printer works fine. Prints labels correctly, and most of all only one label at a time... The drivers are there in the UPS software, just change which one you use and go...
Go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools (in Clasic view), and double click on Services. Scroll down and right-click on "Print Spooler". Start (or Restart) it and your printers will reappear in the "Printers and Faxes" window, and the spooler will try to send jobs to the printers again.
If you check the Properties of the Print Spooler, on the Recovery tab, you can set it to "Restart the Service". I set mine to Restart on the First Failure and Second Failure, and Take No Action on the Third Failure, in case something really needs attention.
