Question about HP Compaq nx8220 Notebook
Does not load windows
The reason why is because ,hp computers use a different set of video drivers than does win/microsoft, when upgrading to xp you must install xp 1st release no svc pacs, then must have the hp video drivers oem for the model you are installing xp to , they can be downloaded on hp driver download, or the intel driver download site, unless you have a different chip set, the oem drivers must also be puton either a floppy disk or cd , that is made bootable from restart, make shure either the A drive or the C drive is set to boot before the hard drive so it will pick up the bootable disk you made with the downloaded drivers , then reboot the computer with the xp disk , at the disk partion screen select leave old files intact with the new install !

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Windows Xp wont boot up
systems do this if the os hasnt been registered within the time limit or you could have missing sys files either way you'll have to re-install windows either repair existing os or fresh install..I suggest fresh install....you could try booting to safe mode then restart using option start with last known config that worked..you could even try startup from usb to get to dos prompt(virtual dos)
and type in win and enter or type first "chkdsk"which if successful will check and repair any errors;but if they all fail and quite possibly they will you'll need to reinstall anyway.

I had this problem, because I have had my HP Pavillion Dv 9000 laptop replaced 3 times. There is a recall on those laptops. The mother board is no good. HP fixes the problem at no cost to you even if it is out of warranty. There is also a freeware and software BIOS update that was just released. And if your screen ever cracks there is a recall on that as well with the left display hindge. My solution: Call HP at 800-474-6836 they are available 24/7 365. Make sure you have your notebook Model number and serial number ready.

you need to push and hold control, alt, and delete to initialize the start up.
at this time it will ask you for your username and password.
