Bosch WF02466GB/01 pcb fault

The display is acting erratically machine 9 years old, won't finish a cycle

Thanks for all the helpful advice and comments. I checked all the wiring connections into the the PCB and made sure the pins were tight when connected back. The carbon brushes were already replaced 6 months ago along with a new door seal. The machine works now goes through the whole cycle fine. The heater has stopped working. I'm wondering if, as the heating element was breaking down it would cause the PCB to act strangely ? I've done 7 or 8 loads now still working fine (but no heat) if the machine doesn't malfunction for a week I'll put a new element in. Thanks again for all the advice.

SOURCE: Hi there, have got a bosch 1200 classixx

To make sure it is not due to water left in the drum, remove the filter, and clean.
If it still does not spin, then it is more than likely that the brushes need replacing in the motor..
You will have to remove the motor to check them..
If they are less than 3 or 4 mm long, then they need changing.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Why is the fault F18 error code on my bosch washing machine flashing?

Open the small flap at the front bottom right of the machine. DONT unscrew the circular white knob yet!!! Use the small black hose to drain the machine into a tray, by removing the small cap on the end of the hose. You will have to use a tray, rather than a bowl because the hose is only short, and keep emptying the tray.(put a washing up bowl next to the machine, so you don't have to carry the tray.) If water does not come out of the hose, then gently unblock it with a piece of wire or fine knitting needle. When water finally stops coming out of the hose, it is time to gently unscrew the white knob anti-clockwise, and pull it forwards. Now you can clear the debris out of the pump rotor, which is behind the white knob. Check with your finger that it can rotate freely, then replace the white knob firmly. Make sure the small cap is replaced on the end of the hose, clip it back into place and put back the cover panel. If this doesn't work then there is a blockage deeper in the machine, and dismantling will be required. Good Luck!!

Model WF02466gb/07 Is taking forever to finish a cycle. The time runs down normally then steps back by 15 minutes plus. It just sits going back and forwards. It has new brushes on the motor.

Hi rod_ogden,

Usually the Drain Pump cannot drain the water, and the cycle will get stuck on that position and continue washing. You may need to clean the Drain Pump filter, as there may be a foreign object hindering its draining capability.

Please follow my below Tip on how to do this:

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description
I'd say the issue actually with the control...unfortunately. The "1" being displayed is actually an error code associated with a heating fault.

**B/S/H/ issued a recall on certain models between 1999 - 2006 depending on the model & serial number, you can check with yours but...you'll need the serial number too. Here`s the link if you want to see for yourself **

http://microsites.boschappliances.com/safetyrecall/dishwasher/

As I've alluded to the issue is likely within the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ).

If you feel capable of checking this on your own, there`s a way to visually inspect the control yourself...it really isn't very complicated.

It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board.

dabfa62.jpg

The culprit will 99% of the times be one of the pins from the heater relay,

9f1823d.jpg

**Flip this over and inspect the solder joints, it will be obvious when you see it.**

This ones new, but it's where to look...

9119d99.jpg

...hence the unit sit`s and takes longer & longer to finish because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed...or takes a long time as I mentioned and eventually display's "1" on units with a display and usually very poor cleaning as a result.

You can also run the unit through a regular or econo cycle ...any cycle with the exception of rinse & hold, and with the door panel removed place an ammeter on the gray/black wire it should draw 11 amps during the wash cycle...after it fills and the flow switch indicates it has adequate water to engage the heater.

**My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...or it will not last, although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**

**Please disconnect the power or turn off the breaker before attempting any service to the dishwasher.**

If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau/Siemens, to service your machine.

Hope this answer`s your question, let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank`s for visiting "FixYa" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness. Good luck.

It won't drain and says F4 on display, I have checked the filter at the front and it is clear, it is plumed in into the sink and that is not blocked? Pls help I can't afford a new washing machine...

That fault code is to do with the drain pump either its jammed or not working remove the front plate at the bottom of the machine undue the filter and check to see if it is either a blockage or something jammed in the pump.

Hope helps.

Our Bosch is 3 years old. I always use the Quick

Hi, What you're seeing when it display's the "1" is actually an error indicating a fault with the heater circuit. Likely if you select just a rinse cycle it will complete fine since the rinse cycle doesn't call for heat from the element/control. sooo... Based on your description I'd say the issue is with the control. Bosch has had a history of this exact problem I'm about to lay out for you and this is the first thing I'd be looking for if called out to service the unit with the symptoms you've described. ( unless you requested a resolder option...see below re: my opinion on this ) I digress, As I've alluded to the issue is within the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). My first suggestion would be calling in an authorized bosch servicer if that is an option for you and your budget however, If you cannot afford that option or feel capable of checking this on your own, there`s a way to visually inspect the control yourself. It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sit`s and takes forever to finish and eventually display's the "1" error because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed. **My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...half assed will not last, although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. If your heat cycle is not coming on, which it sounds like it is not, then you may have a problem with the heating system. There is a well known issue with many of the Bosch dishwashers that use the (266746) control module. Basically, there is a relay (which is a kind of electro-mechanical switch) that is used to turn on the built-in heater. There is a solder joint on the main Printer Circuit Board (PCB) that allow electricity to flow to the heater, that joint often will melt away and burn the surrounding area of the PCB. This is most likely a design flaw and appears to occur at about the 4-5 year mark. One way you can test for this is to run the onboard diagnostics routine that is programmed into the firmware of the micro-controller (brain) of the dishwasher. The way to do so it to press and hold the (Scrub Wash & Delicate/Econo) buttons at he same time and then press the on/off power switch to the on position. The LED lights above both those buttons should begin to flash, when they do, press them both again and the diagnostics program will start. It is a multi-phase program that will run for quite a while. Once it finishes, if it is a heating problem, it will end with a number 2 code in the display. If this is so, then it very well maybe the solder-joint issue on the control module and it will need to be replaced. It runs $128.10 US directly from www.bosch-appliances.com. Good luck.
