Question about Zyxel NBG-417N Wireless Router

Router doesn't respond

Hi, I have an older NBG-417N and wanted to test it. I plugged in the router yesterday, I didn't know the password so I reset it to default settings, configured the WLAN SSID and WPA password and it worked fine for at least 14 hours (cable internet, no configuration necessary). Today the router had only power and wifi LEDs on, nothing else. Neither connection via LAN nor WLAN worked. I have restarted it several times, tried to reset it but nothing happens. Power and Wifi are always on, no reactions after a restart or an attempt to reset. No other LEDs are on or flashing. Router's DHCP server doesn't work, so I tried with fixed IP via LAN, but I still couldn't ping the router or get to it's web configurator. That's all from my troubleshooting skills, any idea what else can I try ? Thanks, Lubrik

I donot remambar password

Most default user credentials are - admin/admin.
If you are unable to log in, then most routers come with a reset key. For Zyxel NGB-417N router, press the reset key with a pin. hold on the pin till the device reboots.
Login with the default user id and password and setup the router.

Router not turning on

It may be the AC jack has been damaged due to pulling on the power cable, wiggle the plug while in the device. Try to reset the device to default settings. After a firmware update the setup CD may not work, go online to reconfigure.

Just reboot it.At the back is a small hole.Take a paper clip and press for about 10 secs.Try again.It should be at default.

How to change the channel

Open your Internet Explorer browser
Type on the address bar (, Username:Blank / password:1234
Go to the wireless settings and there you will find the channel.

Im conected to router, bud i can't get to internet...

try to do a POWER CYCLE. This helps a lot of times.
Steps to do a Power Cycle:-
1. Turn Off all the devices (Computer, Modem Router)
2. After about 5 - 10 minutes, Turn on the Modem First & wait for about 3 minutes.
3. Nextly turn on the Router & then again, wait for about 3 minutes.
4. Now, turn on the computer & Check.
