There are three IC regulators. Out of which ones number do you want? Circuit section? Position?

In the past, my experience with Sonys is that you need to use Sony parts to successfully repair them. Also you might have a cold solder joint which creates an arc when you turn it on. This arc will cause a "spike" which could possibly take out the regulator. Stargazer

SOURCE: regulator ic of sony tv kv-g21c1

I am not familiar with the particular model of Sony TV that you have. I can answer genericaly:

There are a number of voltage regulators typicaly used on TV sets. These are usualy IC devices, or a complete descrete circuit. The purpose of these are to regulate voltages that are used to operate various circuits. Most sets can typicaly have anywhere from about five to maybe even a dozen or more throughout the set, depending on the sophistication of the model.

The regulators, like any part in the set can fail with age and use. Sometimes they are damaged from other components failing, or when a regulator fails, it can damage the circuit areas that it is suppying. When the set is being service, the tech must check for other failed parts.

There should be circuit designations printed on the PC board. Without those, there are too many possibilities to give you anything useful. Can you provide those please?

Thanks,

KV-21bmr1. Why no color?

If tuner has fault, there will be no color.
If color system is set wrong, there will be no color.
If the chroma-IC is faulty, there will be no color.
If the set has not been properly tuned, there will be no color.

My television will not turn on. The light blinks 6 times over and over again and there is no picture or audio.

that chassis for sony is the DA4 chassis and they had a big problem with regulator failures in the main power supply. primary and secondary power regulators the location numbers are IC8002 and IC6501 i believe the part number from sony is MCZ3001DB you must get the part number that ends is (DB) or you will not reliably repair the tv. the sony part number is 6-705-810-01 they are going to cost around $20 each because they are the good parts. they are going to be about 20 pin ICs and you will just need to desolder old ones and resolder new. they will be on the board on the left looking from the back about middle of the board on the left hand side. good luck!!!

No Display, no sound- not working, showing dead. But input Power is ok. Picture tube filamment not getting power. model sony KV-2192M3

Hello
Check the input fuse first. If it is blown, there will be some short inside the power regulator circuit. Usually Sony sets uses STR regulated power supply. You can see this STR, and Ic, screwed onto a heatsink. Replace it with a same type and number. Before replacing the STR, check the diodes used in that section for damage, mainlu zener diodes. They might get shorted along the blowing of the STR. Check that section throughly before resoldering the new STR.
If any further assistance you needs, get me through Fixya. Ok.

Sony Vega Service Codes

The 7 blinks indicate an over voltage condition. The high voltage section has exceeded 33,000V. This is generally caused by a bad regulator. I don't have a listing for your model, but there should be a multi-pinned IC attachd to a heatsink marked STRxxx located close to where the AC cord comes into the set. Post the actual marking here and I'll get you the part number and cost. That is the regulator that may be the problem.
