Always use CRTL/ALT/DELETE to shut it down when something like that happens.
It damages the HDD if you do not shut it down correctly.
Unplug the power cable from the computer and let it sit over night. Plug it back in.
is your computer XP or Vista?
please let me know.
Thanks!

How to Restart my Computer?

if by restart you mean reboot you may unplug the computer from the wall. plug it back in and press the power button for reboot, or if its a laptop press the power button for 3 seconds until it shuts down then turn it back on, if you mean reinstall operating system you need to specify which operating system you are using and the version of it, for instance Windows 10 allows you to "Restart" computer to "like new" by turning off the computer, turn it back on pressing F8 and follow the instructions on the screen.

Pc keep rebooting at windows screen when turned on

Did you install any hardware or windows updates? The reason its restarting is its getting a blue screen error but its setup to restart on error so its happening so fast you dont get to see the error..... Try hitting F8 right after the boot screen to get some windows options and try to enter into safemode.... If you can odds are its related to a windows update or something newly installed

E640 REBOOT

Hi John,

I see you mentioned you update IE9 then you now get a blank screen...

If I may ask the blank screen showed up after the update or did it show up after restarting the computer?

If your getting a Blank screen when you boot into windows after the IE9 update, try rebooting then boot into Safemode.

Restart you computer then as soon as you see the Boot screen of you computer keep on Tapping f8 to get a list select safemode, then once it boots into safemode windows will load up in safemode on the issue and you can navigate arround to fix things that went wrong.

click on the Start Button on the lower left of the task bar then, click on Programs, select accessories then select system tools, look for system restore then select the option select a different restore point, on the window you may see a list of restore points hoping your system restore was turned on in the very beginning, once you have selected a restore point keep on clicking next then a warning will show just click next again then it will restart your computer.

System restore allows you to restore to a date where you had windows working fine without any problems so if you can get a restore point before updating IE9 then it is possible that you may be able to fix you windows back the way it was.

I hope that this will help,

I have an e machine model t3265 it keeps just restarting i pressed the f11 button when i turn it on does nothing but keep restarting trying to get back to factory default help me please thank you also i...

Sorry to hear you're computer is acting up.

Turn the computer off.
When you turn the computer on tap the F8 key(at the top of the keyboard) once every second.
If you get the Advanced options screen choose Last known good configuration by using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

If the computer continues to reboot then do the F8 thing again but this time choose Do not reboot on system error(don't remember exact wording). If you're getting a blue screen, what is the STOP error code shown on the screen?

Computer comes on and is fine for a while then just cuts off, then turn it back on then its fine for a while then cuts back off.

Hello

To start with, you should check all your hardware. A loose connection somewhere or a faulty piece of hardware could be the reason, the computer keeps rebooting itself. In case your RAM stick is not fitted properly, or is corrupt, the computer displays an error message on the screen and keeps rebooting itself. The same problem occurs with a hard disk. You can use 'Memtest86' to run a hard drive check.

You may at times come across an error message on your screen, like a system failure error, before rebooting by itself. There is a particular solution to this type of problem. You should first go to the My Computer icon and right click on it. Select properties, and a window will appear on your screen. Click Advanced tab → Start Up and Recovery → Settings. After clicking the settings option, you will have to uncheck the box next to Automatically Restart. Click OK twice. This will prevent the computer from rebooting itself and you can redress the issue.

A different way to tackle the problem of 'computer keeps rebooting itself', would be to restart your computer in the Safe Mode. Allow the computer to boot fully and let your windows operating system load fully. Now, if your computer keeps rebooting itself even in the safe mode, there is a problem either with the operating system or hardware. And if your computer is not rebooting itself in safe mode, the problem is related to certain software.

Over heating is another reason why your computer keeps rebooting itself. Not many people pay attention to this aspect though. The fan responsible for keeping the CPU cool, may be malfunctioning or there could be dirt settled between the fan and CPU. Any one of these could be the reason for your problem. Either clean the fan area, or replace it if necessary. Try providing proper ventilation for your CPU, so that it stays as cool as possible.

You computer could reboot on it's own if you have installed improper drivers. Right click on the 'My Computer' icon, and click on 'Properties' from the menu list which appears. A new window will open. Select the 'Hardware' tab, and click on 'Device Manager'. A list will be displayed on the screen in which you will have to check all categories. Is you see any red or yellow warning icons, make sure you update that particular driver from the internet.

My computer keeps rebooting want allow me to go into safe mode only recovery. However upon restart it constantly reboots.

One problem can be that the router and net is on while you turn on your computer, so turn off the internet and router. Another problem is that its an annoying virus that forces the computer to restart itself.
