It's UHF T2040. The signal level is correct on the collector tab of final PA transistor. That signal is fed thru the pcb but greatly attenuated. I hardwired the thru-tracklink on the pcb. Zero ohms on either side of pcb. Still signal loss. Is the feedback loop loading down the signal?

Hi,

Tricky question with a simple solution, May I suggest you join, as I did, yahoo group SPECIFIC to your radio Make/Model, like myself (I own A T2010, T2020 & T2030), you will receive expert info on your queries, plus you can download manuals, schematic diagrams and other goodies for your radio.

I hope this helps you.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Kenmore coldspot compressor draws 1.4 AMPS when running but when it does not start it draws 8 AMPS

When you turn the compressor off you have high pressure on the output side - If you do not wait for the unit to equalize pressures before restarting, often, a compressor will not start - when this happens it draws a lot of power as your measurements indicate.

The technical reason why unit draws so much power when it is stalled is that the motor acts as a generator in the reverse direction of current flow. The reverse current or back EMF serves as a brake to the incoming current. So if you have 8 amps rushing in and the motor generates a back emf of 6.6 while running the resultant draw is 1.4. Capiche?

If motor does not turn on after a cycle it is because the thermostat is not closing properly. I would change it. U might also want to check out the condition of the start relay or hard start cap. If that is not working properly the compressor will not start.

Why does my car stereo overheat after 15-20 minutes?

There clearly is a fault. Probably with the output or driver stage bias. Something is getting hot and as it heats its value is changing. It will probably need an engineer with a service sheet to locate the fault. It is rarely the obvious culprit...

Cx-3300 low output on low and high power

the switch for low and high power the contacts are gone or you need to check the DC voltage to the output section and the voltage drop on TX usually the likes of the cobra 148GTLDX has a bridge board you can remove and add some LCD DVM for current monitors and setting of bias etc so perhaps a regulator has failed or a resistor or the contacts on the switch you need to trace it out using current readings

My 1998 hitatci tv keeps blowing fuse whats wroung

The TV has two power supplies, low and high voltage. Most likely the high voltage transistor (called a Horizontal Output Transistor or HOT) is shorted due to a malfunctioning high voltage transformer (the biggest piece on the board with the large red wire coming from it. If the low voltage is bad most likely the diode pack (full wave rectifier) or the voltage regulator chip.
Remember fuses are to keep the unit from catching fire by opening up when a short circuit draws too much current. If you cannot replace the cause of the current draw, it's time to buy a new TV.

Area of solar cell for 1w

WOW time to get out the calculator.
That will depend on the output of your cell.
A WATT is voltage multiplied by current (amps X volts)
so you will need to know the size of your cell and the power output.
if the cell is 2cms X 2cms (which is about average) and the output is 100 Mil Amps
you will have 4 sq cms (area) and need 10 cells to make 1 amp - so you will have a total area of 40cms -- Ray

How select low and hi power 1w and 25w

You didn't say which radio you have, but in general, there's a combination of the "function" ("F" or "FN") and another keyboard key (generally labeled PO or PWR) that will cycle through the outpower settings.

Very low TX output power on ALL HF BANDS ONLY. Other bands OK!

look for a broken or cracked board near the driver s & finals, try pushing around on the board with your plastic screwdriver, you may luck into it.

Low TX PWR/ATU won`t tune. No SWR and ALC metwr reading?

You've replaced the pre driver, the drivers and finals. Set bias and still low output. The pre driver is the same transistor used as the tx exciter transistor on other pcb chassis on bottom of radio. Follow the gray coaxial wire from the pre driver on the RF circuit board back to the tx/rx i.f. Circuit board. The gray coax cable plugs right next to the tx exciter transistor on this pcb. Again it's on a different pcb all together and on the bottom of the radio and also. Replace it! And check for open bias or emitter to ground chip resistor next to it. You will get your drive back. Very few rigs have I seen the actual Finals blown in the mosfet or the bipolar version. Just the driver stage with a week pre driver and the SMT "pre" pre driver on the same RF pcb. And the tx exciter on the other pcb.
