Although the description is vague, (they all have model numbers) I can tell you that all cabinet parts can be sourced on a hob that is only 3 years old. Do it now rather than later.
probably find that after so long the igniter is starting to fail
call smeg and see if there is a replacement one available
there may be after market units from your local gas shop
Check that nothing is protruding from inside of machine. If still won't shut check that nothing is stuck in the closing mechanism. As a last resort contact manufacturer or service agent.
This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.
I have a 2 year old SMEG FAB 32 Fridge/Freezer and the freezer section has suddenly lost temperature. Upper fridge section is fine but freezer not. I have emptied, kept door shut, turned dial up but no success.
Any suggestions on what the problem might be?
Wouldn't expect problems on a SMEG just 2 years old. You could have a bad thermostat or the refrigerator could be low on Freon, make sure you clean off the exposed coils on the back of the fridge and underneath to free it from dust and dirt – use some type of a blower for underneath and the coils you can vacuum off or wipe off the coils, if not call a service tech to have a look @ the refrigerator – it might have a bad compressor
