SOURCE: removed my CMOS battery, but the BIOS settings won't disable

There are 2 ways you can reset your bios.
1. On the motherboard there is a small watch battery. Remove this battery along with the power cable from the power supply. Hold down the power button to fully discharge the system. Wait 2-3 minutes then reinstall the battery and plug in your system. Your reset is now complete

2. Some motherboards have a 3 pin jumper by the battery. Lets say that the jumper is on pins 2 and 3. Remove the jumper while the machine is OFF and place onto pins 1 and 2. Power on your machine for a minute. (Note: Your system will not POST). Shutdown your machine and put the jumper back to pins 2 and
3. Your reset is now complete
There might also be an option within the BIOS to "Load Defaults" if that is all you are looking to do
please see this http://www.11a.nu/software/bios-pc-bios-security-and-maintanance-toolkit/
hope it helps!

SOURCE: How do I remove forgotten BIOS password?

1) You can reset BIOS to default settings by pressing <Alt><F>

2) I am not sure about the laptops, but in the Dell Desktops usually there is a reset jumper on the motherboard which is seated on 2pins out of 3, you just need to remove that jumper turn on the pc once and the turn on the pc again by reseating the jumper to its original place. You can try this with your laptop, I guess the jumper should be somewhere close to the CMOS battery.

3) Remove the battery and keep it away for atleast 30 mins. and replace it again.

NOTE: make sure while following step (3) and (4) the system should be completely turned off. Unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery and hold the power button for atleast 8 - 10 seconds.

let me know the output

SOURCE: I have forgotten BIOS password on my HP Elitebook 6930P

If the computer you are servicing has an unknown user password, follow these steps to clear the
password:
NOTE: These steps also clear CMOS.
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 44).
5. Remove the real-time clock (RTC) battery (see RTC battery on page 66).
6. Wait approximately 5 minutes.
7. Replace the RTC battery and reassemble the computer.
8. Connect AC power to the computer. Do not reinsert any batteries at this time.
9. Turn on the computer.
All passwords and all CMOS settings have been cleared.

Single touch to open and close the window is not working

Check settings in the Mouse or touchpad software. If this is a recent event try a System restore to a date before this issue. It may be a hardware failure. Take a look at Dell Support, it may be a common issue: http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-13-l321x/pd Have you done ANY updates recently?

Why i can't connect to external monitor using dell xps13?

And you are holding the Fn key down, and at the same time tapping once on the F1 key?

The F1 key is the Display Toggle-Over key.

Still no? Hold the Fn key down again, and tap once more on the F1 key.

Password bios

Resetting the BIOS password for a laptop can be difficult. A typical way to reset the BIOS password is to remove the CMOS battery from inside the computer. By removing the CMOS battery, a small battery inside the computer that looks like a watch battery...it should clear out the password. Often times with a laptop though, the CMOS battery might not be easily accessible.
I have done this before by unscrewing the bottom or back of the laptop, and then looking for the battery. You remove the battery for lets say 5 minutes, and let the laptop sit. Then carefully put the battery back in, and reboot the laptop, and see if BIOS password is gone.
I would recommend letting someone from a local PC repair place try this, as it can be a delicate procedure. Otherwise you need to follow up directly with Dell and probably send it off to them.

Alternately, you could try and take main the battery out of the laptop to try and reset it. I'm not sure though this would clear a BIOS password.
Hope this helps.

Bios password reset on a Dell XPS 1530. Bios reset software will not work for you cannot boot from disc while a bios password is implemented. Removing CMOS battery overnight does not work either.

I am not going to take credit for information but here the link. Please read, removing the CMOS battery will never solve it nor replacing it.

My Dell XPS 400 PC will not Boot up past the "System password"

Both the system password and the BIOS password are set in the BIOS CMOS. You need to clear the CMOS.

The online Dell service manual for the XPS 400 provides a clear and detailed procedure for clearing the CMOS. It's just a matter of moving some jumpers around:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xps400/sm/index.htm

If you are not used to working inside computers, start with "Removing the computer cover", then go to "System Setup" and click on "Clearing Forgotten Passwords".

Another method is to unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for a 1/2 hour or so. For details on how to do that, try this website:
