Hoshizaki am-25ae. We have inherited a AM-25AE with the lodge we bought and it works just fine. We do want to give it a very good clean inside and disinfect the whole water 'way' to ensure the ice won

Cleaning Instructions:
Water System
1) Dilute approximately 5 fl. oz. (148 ml) of recommended cleaner Hoshizaki " Scale Away" or "Lime-A-Way" ( Economics Laboratory, Inc) with 1 gal. (3.8 lit) of water.
2) Remove all ice from the Evaporator and the storage bin. Note: To remove cubes on the evaporator, remove the front panel ( Lower), move the control switch on the control box to the "OFF" position and move it back to the "ICE" position after 2 minutes. The harvest cycle starts and the cubes will be removed from the evaporator plate.
3) Move the control switch to the "OFF" position. Close the water supply line shut-off valve.
4) Remove the water tank to drain the water. Refit the water tank in its correct position.
5) Slowly pour the cleaning solution into the water tank.
6) Move the control switch to the "WASH" position.
7) After circulating the cleaner solution for about 30 minutes, move the control switch to the "OFF" position.
8) Remove the water tank to drain the cleaning solution. Refit the water tank in its correct position.
9) Open the shut-off-valve.
10) Move the control switch to the "WASH" position to circulate clean water for about 5 minutes.
11) Move the control switch to the "OFF" position and immediately back to the "WASH" position to rinse water.
12) Repeat the above rinse procedure three more times to rinse thoroughly.
13) Dilute approximately 0.5 fl. oz. (14.8 ml) of 5.25% sodium hypochlorite (Chlorine bleach) with 1 gal. (3.8 lit) of water.
14) Move the control switch to the "OFF" position. Close the water supply line Shut-off-valve.
15) Remove the water tank to drain the water. Refit the water tank in its correct position.
16) Slowly pour the sanitizing solution into the water tank.
17) Move the control switch to the "WASH" position.
18) After circulating the sanitizing solution for about 15 minutes, move the control switch to the "OFF" position.
19) Remove the water tank to drain the sanitizing solution. Refit the water tank in its correct position.
20) Open the shut-off valve.
21) Move the control switch to the "WASH" position to circulate clean water for about 5 minutes.
22) Move the control switch to the (OFF) position and immediately back to the "WASH" position to rinse water.
23) Repeat the above rinse procedure two more times to rinse thoroughly.
24) Move the control switch to the "ICE" position, and start the automatic ice making process. Refit the front panel (LOWER) in its correct position. abut do not forget to wash and sanitize the ice bin.

Dishwasher won't start

Try resetting the unit by shutting off the circuit breaker first for 1 minute then try the reset button. If nothing happens, then i would recommend having someone take a look at it.

WATER LEVEL FLOAT DEVICE PREVENTS UNIT FROM TURNING ON,EVEN THOUGH WATER TANK IS FULL. REMOVED SOME FILTER MATERIAL WITH NO EFFECT. FLOAT IS FREE WITH NO RESTRICTION.

These hints are from the air o swiss webpage.
Q: No mist / unit is not working / empty indicator keeps flashing
A: Fill up the water tank. Check if water is flowing through the demineralization cartridge (attached to the water tank cap). If the water tank is full but there is only little water in the base it indicates that the water is now flowing through the demineralization cartridge.

  • Wait for 15 minutes to allow the mist to come out of the unit.
  • If the unit is not working and the empty light is not flashing you might have set the desired humidity too low and the current humidity level in the room is higher. That is why the unit switches off automatically.
  • If the empty indicator continues flashing and the tank is full, water is not flowing through the cartridge. Exchange the cartridge or the granules in the cartridge after 2-3 months, in areas with hard water exchange the cartridge after 1 -2 months. However, the demineralization cartridge and or the granules must be exchanged at the latest after 6 months or the unit does not reach its full performance.
If the granules are new, see the following instructions:

  • Make sure the cartridge and/or granules were soaked for 24 hours, water takes longer to filter through dry granules in cartridge and into the base. Next, remove 2 tablespoons of granules from the cartridge, and throw them away. Too many granules in the cartridge it does not allow water to flow from the tank to the base.
If your issue is with the float and not the mister, then you have to make sure the float is tripping the micro switch that turns the machine on. Some units the filter will not allow the float to hit the switch if the filter is not installed correctly. If everything is in correctly and the float is tripping the switch, then the micro switch must be faulty.

LOW FUEL INDICATOR COMES ON 2004 GRAND PRIX EVEN WHEN TANK FULL

The low fuel sensor works on an open circuit. When you have a full tank, the float floats up, closing a micro-switch. With this switch closed, the circuit is complete and the light is off. When you get to a low fuel level, the float floats down, opening the micro-switch. This in turn sends a power signal to your dash, bringing the light on. Now if their is a broken wire in the system, it will act the same as the fuel level being low. As these wire are usually in a vulnerable spot underneath the vehicle, it is common for them to get damaged. Inspect the wiring first, and if nothing is found, suspect the micro switch could possibly be stuck closed and/or faulty itself. Goodluck, please let me know how you go with the problem.

The machine will say Fill water tank. So, we will take the container out of the machine fill it to or just a little above the recommended line and then put it back into the machine. It will be full and it...

After filling the water tank, can you see if a grey plastic piece, in the back of the water tank, is floating?. If no, then that part needs to be replaced. If it does float, then the integrity of the water sensor, (located in the back of where the water tank is housed into), will need to be tested. Testing this sensor requires, tricking the coffee maker... that the door is closed. With Coffee Maker in the "ON" position, you will need to hold door switch in (located top right corner of unit, with door opened). As switched is held in, you will need to use a magnet and place it around the rear of where the water tank is housed into (Rear-left middle height area)... just around where the water tank float would be, if it were filled with water and inserted into the coffee maker. This sensor isn't visible, but is activated when a magnet is placed around it. If "FILL WATERTANK" message goes away, then replace plastic float or water tank itself.

Water gtank full telling me to fill water tank

Hi
Check an see if you have the magnet in your water tank. That is your signal to the computer that it is full if it is at the top of its chamber. If you don't have a magnet ( gray cylinder) in the water tank that is your problem. If it is on the bottom the magnet needs to be replaced.

How is float switch testing and troubleshooting ?

I use a float switch to automatically top off the water in my fishtank.  the best method I can suggest for testing the unit is to get an extension cord that you are comfortable with cutting.  Cut one of the 2 wires of the extension cord, and put the float switch in-line on this one cut wire.  Be sure to use wire nuts or something that can cover up the exposed connections where the float switch connects to the extension cord.  Once everything is buttoned up, plug the extension cord into an outlet and plug a small device which does not require much power into the other end of the extension cord, a small nightlight or something would work great.  Now move the float up and down on it's shaft to see if the connection is established to power the device.  This is essentially the same configuration that I use for my fish tank topoff and the deivce at the end of the extension cord is a pump which sits in a rubbermaid full of water.  Works great!!  Hope this helps.

Joe

Possible Causes Remedies 1. ReadyTools dial may be at wrong setting. 1. Set ReadyTools dial to either FLOOR CLEANING or TOOLS setting. 2. Tank may not be seated properly. 2. Pick up both the 2-in-1 water tank and formula tank and reseat them so they fit snugly on the unit. 3. Tank may not be assembled properly. 3. Check to make sure the "lip" of the nozzle is securely hooked into the groove on bottom of Tank (see page 9). 4. Solution or 2-in-1 water tank is empty. 4. Check fluid levels in heavy duty bladder and formula tank. 5. 2-in-1 water tank has picked up 5. Empty 2-in-1 water tank. Refill maximum dirty water and red float heavy duty bladder with clean door has closed. hot tap water and replace. 6. Red float "door" in the tank may have closed 6. Turn the machine OFF ( O ), as a result of bumping an object or moving allowing red float door to release into machine back and forth too quickly. the open position. Turn unit back ON ( I ) to continue cleaning. Be sure your forward and backward strokes are done at a slower pace.

Water tank level indicator sinks to the bottom when water tank is full.

Hi,

I think the float is up and down, try to take it out and turn it.

Look at the float in the other tank to see if it is same position, the rounded side should be down.

Let me know if you get it to work.

Best regards
/Mirran

Red light is flashing continuesly

Ok I found a temporary solution. I opened up the unit (yes there are a lot of screws) I checked the float switches and they worked and even unplugging the water level wire connection to the main board did not get rid of the red flashing light. But if you unplugged the connection from the front panel to the main board but leave the infrared remote still plugged in the main lights and control are not on but you can still work the unit by remote. When in this configuration the compressor will come on and the unit will cool. So I think that part of the problem is on the front panel circuit board or maybe somewhere on the main board. But physically the compressor/relay/ switches work. A short term solution until I can get a new board.

Cheers!
