SOURCE: Blown fuse on JBL amp

Are they inside. I ask because I just looked at pictures of the JBL GTO504 and there are only 2 fuses on the outside of the case. They are standard car type fuses with the current rating printed on them, looks like 20 Amp. You can just pull them out and replace them but you really need to find out why 1 has blown before replacing it.

It is hard to diagnose without seeing it, but most likely you need a new amp. We have them in stock. http://reconingspeakers.com/product/jbl-sub-12-amplifier-assembly/

I have a Marantz 2275 receiver hooked to some JBL speakers. I noticed one of the speakers crackling. I swithched the speaker wires around and now the other speaker crackles so I'm guessing it is

Doesn't sound like it's a speaker - more likely a fried chip or transistor causing harmonic distortion.
It's usually more cost effective to replace modern audio components than to fix them.

Amp crackling noise

Sounds like you could have a blown amp/speaker or you've got a short in your speaker lead. Typically, when there's not enough resistance on a wire is when you start getting the crackling noises.

Hi

The problem is with the amplifier itself. Crackling is usually capacitor related and you will need to have the amp checked over to properly identify the cause.

Some amps are also prone to pick up static from other electrical items which can also cause these problems. I had a crackling issue with an old Crate amp of mine which turned out it was due to being too near a computer/monitor so it is worth eliminating these things as a possible cause before having the amp checked.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

My car subwoofer is fuzzy and crackling. Even when I play a CD. but when i unplug the sub it dosent effect the other speakers

sounds like a blown voice coil, or a bad amp.
press gently in the middle of the sub and listen for a scraping or crackling sound, if you hear it, your sub is blown.

Sound fluxuates, crackling sound samsungTX-R3079WH sound goes up and down automaticly

If the sound FLUCTUATES up & down, try turning off the AutoVolume in the sound menu. You didn't say if it's one or all speakers crackling. Crackling is either a speaker or circuitry issue. Adjust the balance away from the speaker that crackles, if it stops, that speaker is probably "fried". If it still crackles, I'd turn off the speakers and run the sound thru a stereo for the quick, cheap fix. My Samsung (10+ years old to be fair) crackles due to a circuit issue but if I SMACK the left side speaker (behind which is the sound board and side panel connectors) it stops for a while. Maddening. I think I broke it squeezing it into the furniture it's in, pressing on the protruding RCA plugs. Dumb design.

My center speaker crackles

Try connecting one of your other speakers to the centre channel on the amp to see if it is the speaker or the Reciever. If the speaker does not crackle then chances are the centre speaker is probably blown and will require replacing.

SoundDock produces only harsh crackling sound

Yeah i had that same problem. You know the chord? The cord you plug in from outlet. The square cord you plug into your speakers.. yeah the "DC outlet" is supposed to be UP. if you have it the wrong way in there it wont work and will make a crackling sound.
