How do I replace an oven door seal?

Piece of cake. Use pliers and pull on the small metal clips that hold the old seal on the door. Now simply press the clips on the new door seal into the same holes. The ends of the door seal should point to the floor when the door is closed.

Model #jb700tok3 how to lift the stove top. heat warning lite will not go off

Hello. REMOVE POWER FROM THE RANGE NOW! Using a headlamp or flashlight, open the range door and look underneath the cooktop at the front. (The door covers the screws when its closed) There should be 3-4 screws depending on the model, usually black, that have to be removed. The cooktop will now lift up from the front. It is hinged(open hinges so be careful because the glass cooktop can be easily dislodged off the hinged area) underneath the control panel on the left and right sides. The elements will be mounted to the bottom of the glass. You will need to identify the defective element temperature sensor using a voltage/ohm meter. Element designation 56, LR and RR, part number WB30T10129, 6-inch size. Element designation 57, LF, 9-inch dual, part number WB30T10133. Element designation 58, RF, 12 inch, part number WB30T10130. If you are going to attempt the repair, take pictures of the wiring AND clips for each element before you start. Mark the new element with an arrow or dot, etc. with the mounting clip location numbers from the old element( see the numbers for each of the positioning holes around the rim. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE HEATING FOILS AT ALL--THEY ARE VERY DELICATE! Have a friend/helper hold the cooktop up while you work--this will make the job much easier. I hope I helped you!

Replacing door seal

Take the old seal out of the channel in the frame. Some seals are held into a track with screws that tighten the channel and hold onto the seal. You may have to lift up one side of the channel to see the screws. Loosen these screws first and pull out the seal. Don't take the screws all the way out as it will be easier for you to install the new seal if the screws are part way in. the channel well with a small amount of detergent and rinse in warm water. Make sure there is no grease left around the frame of the door. Start the installation at the top of the door and place the new seal in the channel. As you work across and down the sides, tighten the screws to hold the seal in place. Finish at the bottom of the door and **** the ends of the seal together. If the seal is stiff and you're having trouble working with it, soak in warm water for a few minutes to soften it up and make it more pliable. Go back over the seal and make sure it is straight. Sometimes while tightening the screws you can distort the seal slightly. If you find that it is distorted or twisted, just loosen the screw and straighten it out. Then tighten the screw only tight enough to hold the seal in place.

Incounter range allows heat to escape and damages paint on range. Can't get to model #. Range is 4 years old. Can send photo but damage occurs to 2d knob from left side of range. Jim

ranges don't change much, go to the sears store and try to find a unit that looks like and is appx the same size as yours. when you find it, have the sales person look up that model and find the parts diagram from sears parts depot. you should be able to purchase the seal that goes around the door for about 30 dollars or so.

Tappan stove model # 30-3053-23-02. How do I remove the stove top?

For Tappan stove model 30-3053-23-02.

Each burner (4) is mounted to the stove top with three 4.5mm hex screws. All 12 screws must be removed, which is easier said than done. In my case, of the 12, 6 heads snapped off. The other 6 heads had to be drilled out. The metal is very hard (tempered from long exposure to high heat?), so use a carbide/diamond high-speed drill bit (1/8" or 3/16").

The front corners of the stove top are each held by a clip. After removal of the burner mount screws (or heads at least), lift straight up on each front corner of the stove top to release the top from the clip. An alternate method is to use a screwdriver as a lever to pry the corner off the clip. Once released from the clips, the front pulls up, while the back is "hinged" (like lifting an auto hood). Using a stubby phillips screwdriver, unscrew one of the back hinges. At this point, the stove top can be lifted off.

If you are fortunate, the burners were unmounted by simply removing the screws. But if they broke off or had to be drilled out, it seems the best thing to do is just purchase new burner assemblies ($20-$30 each). In either case, also buy new screws specifically for mounting the burners.

Send me your e-mail address and I'll e-mail the diagram with the door instructions for removal and replacement.
It will not fit in here with the diagrams.
Waiting for you.

3. Grasp the door on the sides with your fingers on the front of
the door and your thumbs on the inside surface.
4. Pull door straight up, then toward you. Hinge hangers will
slide out of front frame hinge slot. Do not remove door
removal pins until the door is replaced on the range.

the door and your thumbs on its inside surface.
2. Hold oven door so that the top edge of each hinge hanger is

3. Tilt top of door toward range. Slide hinge hangers down onto
front frame support pins. Make sure the hinge hangers are

its flanges are flush with the front frame.

I have a GE self cleaning range model: JBP68MOK1BS My problem is that there soil marks in between the two glass panel on the oven door. How do I get in there to clean.

Usually, there are fasteners holding the inside panel to the outside cover together. Between the two is insulation. Your two glass panels are probably held in place by tabs that are folded over or screwed in place retainers. To clean your glass, which apparently is soiled by a leak in the glass to panel and cover seal from either tabs being loose or retaining clips being loose.

You can use Oven Cleaner to clean the glass and then run them through a dishwasher, but check on the can of oven cleaner before you purchase them to be certain this product is safe to use on glass.

Hope this gets you on your way and has fixed your dilemma.
