Hi All.

You have blockages check all the hoses & inspection ports onw at the back (U) shaped & one to the front left of machine.
Pull wand from flexi hose check for obstructions.
Remove long flexi hose from the rear of machine again check for blockages.

SOURCE: dyson DC 14 lost suction to beater bar/ suction to hose/stick

My Dyson DC14 had no suction...see if this works...turn the Dyson upside down...there is a length of hose that connects the bottom of the vacuum to the top, careful remove one end of the hose and check for debris...mine was clogged. Removed the clog and voila...it works. Thanks for the above info on checking the hose for cracks.

SOURCE: A Dyson dc 17 Animal and the wand/hose has lost suction

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though the wand/hose is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose assembly from the machine, switch it on and test the suction from the top of the wand with your hand. If the suction is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction from the top of the hose. If its good here, then you know that the wand handle is blocked.

For the full diagnostics, check out the Support section on our website at www.dyson.com or call our Helpline on 1866MYDYSON.

Kind regards
Darran

Brand new dyson DC40 has no suction at bottom

Hi Marin, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC40 is a powerful mid-size Dyson upright vacuums, and we wouldn't expect you to have any concerns about performance on hard flooring or carpet. As long as the machine is used and maintained as described in the User guide we would not anticipate a change in performance, and we're on hand to help if Dyson owners need assistance.

It's important to note that for effective pickup, the cleaner head needs to form a close seal with the floor surface. Simply placing a hand under the cleaner head does not give an accurate idea of suction as you're not creating a seal, as you would be when you place your hand right across the end of the wand or hose. If you turn on and recline the vacuum, turn off the brush bar then lower the cleaner head onto something like a sheet of newspaper, you should see the newspaper held tightly against the soleplate by the vacuum's powerful suction.

We're keen to discuss this with you, and to help ensure your DC40 is working as well as it should be. Please email your full contact details to my colleagues at askdysonUS@dyson.com, and one of our experts will be in touch as soon as possible to provide further assistance.

    Loss of suction

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
I'm sorry to hear you've had difficulty with your DC44 Animal. It's normal for air to blow out of the back of the machine - this is where the exhaust air is returned to the room after passing through the cyclone pack.
However, if your machine doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual and you've recently washed the filter, this may be due to a blockage. To check the motorised carbon fibre floor tool, wand and bin inlet for any obstructions, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:
    http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc44/dc44-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual-dc44/no-resolved-redirect-to-check-the-wand/check-wand
The motorised carbon fibre floor tool is driven by it's own motor, rather than the machine's airflow. If it isn't rotating, the video attached should help you locate anything which could be jamming the brush bar. Make sure you remove any threads or hair from around the brush bar carefully using scissors, taking care to avoid causing any damage to the bristles.
I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if you would like some further help you can reach the Dyson customer Helpline directly by calling us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Dyson Vaccum no suction Rollar works but no suction

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your Dyson cleaner. Our advice would depend on which model you own, which you haven't specified in your question. If you visit www.dyson.com and click 'Support', you should be able to identify your machine and run through some troubleshooting checks which should help you resolve your issue. If your cleaner doesn't seem to have as much suction as normal, you may find it helpful to check for blockages and wash the filter.

If you have any trouble finding your model, or if you've run through the troubleshooting guides and are still having issues, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to provide further assistance - you can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).
