Detergent usually goes either as power or tablet form into the little compartment fixed to the door.  The compartment itself has a flap which keeps the detergent in until it is required in the wash cycle.

Would like a clear description of the 3 sections of detergent drawer on WAQ24460. Is the section on the left (with blue insert) for liquid, detergent or both?

For the users manual, click HERE, Select the second one, marked "UI" under the UM Types, but I will give you the answer here. You should get the manual, it is a wealth of information and can save you much time in the future.
This is direct from the manual:
Detergent Use only detergent specifically designed for dishwashers. For best results, use fresh powdered dish-washing detergent
Hope this helps, Please rate and comment. Thank You

Smart dispense detergent dispenser

There are two different types of dishwasher detergent types, bleach based and enzyme based.  The owner's manual states that if the two are ever mixed that the mixture will congeal, clogging the dispenser.
I don't know exactly how to safely remove the detergent that is in there, perhaps a wet/dry vaccuum.  There is likely a service mode for the dishwasher if it has electronic buttons, in the service mode you could activate the pump that dispenses the detergent.  Use caution, the thicker the clog, the harder the pump has to work and it may fail.  Hope this helps.

I have a kenwood dishwasher kdw12st3a i cant find a user manual online and i need to know where do i put the rinse aid and the salt thanks robert

you do not need. all you would probable need is jet dry which can hang on the top rack or put in the round hole by where you put the detergent.

there isn't a receptacle for the rinse aid. as far as the detergent goes just put a coffee measuring spoonful of detergent right in the machine and start it.

Detergent accidentally put into rinse dispenser

You need to use something to siphon the detergent out of the dispenser. I have plastic syringes for this type of purpose. You don't use the needle attachment.

If you cannot fit the syringe into the opening, then you may try to use clear plastic tubing to syphon out the detergent.

Once the flow of detergent stops, you should then use warm water to rinse the residue. If you have the syringe, you could use it to force water into the dispenser.

This may take a little time, but it is better than trying to disassemble stuff!

Good Luck

Brian
