Check that your machine has not got static IP set in networking.
Control Panel > Network Connections
Right Click on Local Area Connection (or wireless depending on type)
Select Properties
Select the 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Select Properties
Ensure 'Obtain an IP address automatically' is selected to get a new IP address when you re-connect to the router.

You can release and renew the IP.

Go to command prompt and enter ipconfig /release, press enter

and then type ipconfig /renew, press enter

see if it works.
(note:there is a space between ipconfig and the /)

The triangle with the circle around it is blinking and I can not connect to the internet

What I do is go to Internet Explorer and click on diagnose connection problems and apply the fix. Most cases the router has lost its IP configuration. You can manually restart the router and reboot unplug for about 25 seconds then plug back in. This is really a common thing especially if you do not have a Dynamic IP address and often times IP providers will cycle new ones. So a good reboot will usually fix the issue. Hope this assisted you. Thanks for using FixYa! John

My router was working fine until my mum unplugged it to move furniture then plugged it back in. now I can connect to local network but no internet access, I think it is something to do with ipv6 and I have...

Try to unplug both power cords from modem and router. Wait for 10 seconds and plug in your modem first. Wait 1 minute to make sure the modem find a new ip address and then plug in your router. You should be able to get your internet back this way. If it doesn't work after that, try to restart your computer because it probably keeps the old ip address until you reboot.

Hope it helps!

I bought new AS 3935 3 days ago, the internet discouncted after the LapTop goes to sleep, its need restart or restart the wireless connection to resume using the internet. i think there is a security...

If you are using DSL connection sometimes it needs to restart the modem before turning on the unit or PC. Ifg you're using broadband internet you need to connect to their website of the provider by entering your service account control number and of course your personal account info. before loading the web browser.
you need to contact your service provider for this matter.

You may try also to check your network connection settings or internet options. This can be found in your control panel. Click your network connections then right click the local area network options then select the properties and select TCP/ IP protocol. a tool bar will come out. you should see that the automatic detect IP should be the option so that every time an internet is connected you will have an internet ready access.

Thanks. Please send me feed back so that I can give you more options to solve your problem.

Acer Aspire 5630

Seems like your VISTA upgrade didn't sucessfully upgrade itself from XP to VISTA. Seems like M$ update program detects your OS as XP and tries to install the SP3 for XP. VISTA only has SP1 released. Its currently stuck in a loop that it doesn't know what to do. Restart your laptop into safe mode by pressing F8 before the VISTA loading page comes up and go to Safe mode and backup your data and use the ACER RESTORE CD OR ACER RESTORE METHOD to help you reload your system back to factory defaults then upgrade back to vista without install any updates or connecting it to the internet.

This is my best solution to get you out of this weird and unusual situation.

Unable to connect the internet with wireless!

delete wireless connections and reboot, insure you do not have the wired ehternet cable also installed, and insure that wireless switch is off as well for now. when system reboots, turn on the wireless switch and see if the program for IP is corrected.

Laptops do not recieve IP address from the router

I think the problem lies within the dhcp of your router. Make sure dhcp is on and change the lease time to 1440 minutes or higher that way once you have the ip address it will stay with your laptop longer. alternatively allocate the ip address on your laptop manually.

good luck
