Got a laptop with an old ip nr. everytime i reboot or restart the internet connection the ip goes back to the old ip nr. any ideas?
Check that your machine has not got static IP set in networking.
Control Panel > Network Connections
Right Click on Local Area Connection (or wireless depending on type)
Select the 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Ensure 'Obtain an IP address automatically' is selected to get a new IP address when you re-connect to the router.

You can release and renew the IP.
Go to command prompt and enter ipconfig /release, press enter
and then type ipconfig /renew, press enter
see if it works.
(note:there is a space between ipconfig and the /)
