Question about Washing Machines
I have a 2+year old Zanussi ZWF1437W that will not wash or rinse, spin and drain appear ok. An old item disintegrated whilst being washed and clogged the filter, once cleared, pumps and pipe work checked and cleared as required, the machine skips to drain if started at the prewash, wash or rinse cycles. When manually filled with water the drain pump empties quickly with no strange noise and appears to be good, cycle then ends as normal. When interrogated the machine shows a fault code E23, if cleared it reappears straight away, please advise as getting a bit fed up now. Many thanks in advance.
E23 indicates Drain pump faulty; Wiring faulty; PCB faulty.
The service information also says it should stop with the door open.
Unplug the appliance and manually remove the water via the filter or front drain point if it's fitted.
Drain it into a shallow dish, tighten the filter when you need to stop the water (or plug the hose if draining via a hose) while you empty the container.
Once empty, try the door again.
Take the filter out and clean out any debris in it.
Plug the appliance in and put the machine on a drain programe.
Listen/look at the open filter to check that the drain pump is running.
