SOURCE: NoviTech Paper Shredder will not feed paper forward.

I had the same problem with my Novitech Model: PS-026/B2 only working in reverse but not forward. So I decided to take it apart and see if I could find any loose wires, broken parts etc. Keep in mind I am not a paper shredder mechanic, but I was able to fix it, at least for the time being, and here is how:

1. Unplug the machine, and I mean it. Make sure you unplug the machine before you start any fixin'. Unplug the machine!

2. I unscrewed the 7 screws located at the bottom of the case

3. I carefully separated the cases and made sure I did not allow any tension on the few wires that span the case halves

4. With the can of electronics duster I use for my computer keyboard, I sprayed all of the electric contacts, making sure I did not spray any of the grease at the gears. I poked the straw in all of the switch housings and the motor.

5. If you feel a little adventurous, you can remove the 6 screws that hold the cover and safety switch in place. At this point pay attention to how the safety switch arm is positioned ( take a picture if you have to) so it will be in the correct position during assembly. Remove the cover and look for anything that could be caught in the shredders. Remove any foreign matter with tweezers or needle nose pliers. Replace the safety switch and cover, make sure the switch arm is in the same position before you took it apart.

6. Put the two case halves together making sure there are no wires pinched inbetween. Put the seven screws back where they belong and tighten snugly ( do not over tighten cause you will break the plastic, guaranteed!)

7. Place the machine on the waste bucket and plug it in. And voila the motor should start buzzing and humming like it was brand new.

Are there wiring diagrams available for NoviTech PS-026/B2 shredders or just the PDF converter that you try to trick us into downloading?

we don't try to trick you into doing anything
The information given is generic because you have more information than you reveal and you are required to use the given information to produce ideas as to where to go to get the information to help
best advice for you now is to take it in for a service or repair and have it fixed properly

Have a NOVITECH paper shredder- PS-026/B2. When slide switch is moved to ON it starts shredding and won't stop automatically until switch is returned to OFF

LOOK INTO WHERE THE PAPER IS FED... THERE IS A TINY SWITCH THAT THE PAPER TRIPS WHEN THE PAPER IS FED INTO THE SHREDDER. THIS SWITCH IS SHORTED OUT OR STUCK INTERNALLY FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON.

Had the Novitech paper shredder model PS- 106/B2 for just a short amount of time now, and it seems to be stuck in auto mode. It will not turn off unless one uplug's it. Forward and Reverse still work. ...

Make sure the unit is unplugged from the wall and look at the center of the blades and there is a little switch that senses when you insert a piece of paper into the shredder. That switch is stuck in probably by a piece of shredded paper, clean out the area and that should fix your problem.

NoviTech Paper Shredder PS-045/B stops working after a while.

I have workrd on shredders for 17 years. you need to spray a light wait oil in to the paper shut. It is a catch 22 paper dust & paper builds up in them and the covers need to come off and be cleaned out or gears start stripping or braking.
good luck

Novitech shredder

After clearing the jam (with the unit unplugged!), let the unit cool completely, then try using it again. A notice on the nameplate inside my unit says: "2 min on/4 min off." Apparently, a thermal cutoff keeps it from overheating by automatically preventing continued operation that might otherwise melt the parts. So heed the directions. I had the same problem with my NoviTech Model PS-026/B2 crosscut shredder (max: 5 sheets, 1 credit card). Also, make sure the motor mechanism is seated square and flush on the bin. I tried testing it out of the bin, and the green ready light wouldn't come on -- for a good reason: safety. (I still have all of my fingers, thanks to that!) Hope this helps.
