Question about Philips 51PP9910 51" Rear Projection HDTV

3 Answers

Protection Screen The Protection screen cracked, I ordered a new one but no one, including Philips can tell me how to replace it myself. The repair company wants $170.00! That's crazy! I would like to do it myself. Do you have instructions on how to replace this? Thank you, Hollyga

Pop the silver frame off the front. underneath there's a bracket at the top, bottom and sides. remove the old screen. the new screen is in three parts, the back screen the muddle screen and the front screen. make darn sure they're extremely clean and put them all together. there's a groove in the bottom bracket, screen goes into this. also there's the side brackets with an identical groove in them. putting the screen back on is a two person job. loosely fasten the bottom bracket and hold onto the screen. now fasten the side brackets one at a time and finally the top bracket. use the original screw holes. snap the outer frame back on.

What part do i need to order to replace the cracked screen on my philips television model# 42pfl7403d/f7. what part do i need to order, so i can fix it?

Hi Misty,
The broken screen in your TV is replaced as complete panel unit. Usually the replacement is expansive and the panels are not easily available. Better go for new set and put the internal parts of the broken set for sale on internet.

If there is picture in the TV then probably it is the protective screen that has cracked and not the picture tube. Please check carefully.

Please don't go for a self repair for such costly cameras.A simple mistake can hurt your camera badly. You can purchase a genuine accessory and take it to your nearest authorized service center.
