Wifi quit working

I have a Dell D800 laptop, ser. tag #5NY8641, which used to be WiFi capable. After I changed my hard drive and reinstalled Win xp I can no longer get a wireless connection. I have downloaded all Dell drivers and it still will not work. Please help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have the same computer. there is a couple things you can try. go to My Network Places and on the left hand side there is a link to view network connections, click that and see if under the wireless network it says disabled. if it does, right click on it and enable. if that doesnt work try uninstalling and then re-downloadng and reinstalling drivers. another thing, on our home wireless network every once in a while i would have to reset my modem and router. i would just unplug them for about 10 seconds and plug them back in. that helped sometimes too

How do i get wifi for my dell laptop e 6510

Some Dell laptops have trouble with the wifi card, and if you try to reinstall the driver from dell.com, using the service tag from you laptop, sometimes it is difficult since there is a chance that you will find 6 or 7 different drivers for the same model, and it takes time to find out which one is the right one. My suggestion: If you can, use system restore (you can find instructions online on how to do it), and go back a few days to the day when the wifi was ok. If you try everything and "nothing", then buy a mini receiver from amazon or ebay and use it on a usb port, they work even better then the wifi card.

My Dell Inspiron 6400 (Windows XP Home) won't reboot. It's giving me a "Loading PBR for descriptor 1 ... done" line on a black screen. What can I do to fix it. Can I salvage my content / files

Before you use the Recovery CD you need to backup your data because to restoring your laptop will wipe your data off the hard disk.
To backup your data when you cannot boot up your laptop, remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter. Connect this hard drive/USB adapter into the USB port of a working computer. The computer will see it as an external storage device, you can then open the folders and backup your data.
You can then fit the hard drive back into the Dell laptop and boot up with the Dell recovery CD to reinstall Windows etc.

I have a n5030 dell inspiron and i use to connect using wifi. The last time that i did use my laptop the wifi device is not working (the system says that there is no wifi & bluetooth devices). I use...

Make sure your wifi switch is turned on. If that doesn't work, try taking out the battery of your laptop, waiting at least 10 seconds, and then rebooting. If THAT doesn't work, try system restore and take it back until before your wifi quit working.

You need to redownload the drivers for you inspiron N5010 Go to this link: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSPIRON_N5010&os=W764&osl=en&catid=&impid=

When you get there Then scroll down Then where you see "Operating System", select your operating system (ex: XP, Vista, or Windows 7). It will then show all the drivers for your operating system...scroll down until you see the network driver software and then download and reinstall the Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module and download the Dell Wireless WLAN 1520 Half MiniCard Hopefully this will help...good luck.

Dell Latitude D800-Win XP- My Dvd/rw wont write

Because you lost two devices, the DVD and the wireless mini card, I believe your problem is a drivers issue.
You should make sure you do not have any Malware that is removing these drivers.
If you have access to the Internet download and install Malwarebytes. It has a quick scan that will ID any infections.
Then get the newest drivers for those two devices from Dell's support site.
Before you install the drivers, remove those devices in Control Panel.

Cannot get wifi working

If your laptop has internet access through a cable, you can go to Dell's website, go to Support, and then enter your service tag information. It will provide you with the drivers and software to get your wireless card and your bluetooth module working again. Just download the files from the support website and run them and follow the instructions.
