Hi,

I'll suppose you've got a digital cable receiver.
If so there's a text option witch you can change.

Hope it's works out for you,

Kind regards,
Gerard

    Hi,

    Another suggestion.

Take a look at textpage 888, that page generates subtitles.

    Cheers,

    Gerard

Why will it not tune into bbc channels on autotune setup

If you check into the menu there should be a way of manually adding a channel to your memorized channels. Check it out.

Why can I not receive ITV channels

This could be too much signal thanks to the Freeview retunes going on. Your aerial is more sensitive at some frequencies, so there's more signal power higher up the frequency range. The signals for BBC and ITV are among the strongest ones broadcast. If they are now at a point on the aerial's range where they are too strong for the TV then the tuner will over-saturate. The result is the same as no signal.

A simple and inexpensive diagnosis tool is a variable attenuator. The MA1620 on this page is perfect for that job:
Splitters amplified splitters and attenuators

It will give you a way to reduce the signal level at one TV without affecting the other TVs in the house.

Digibox troubleshooting

You need to do a Full Factory Reset tuning rather than just a rescan.

Rescan simply looks at the place holders where the old channels were stored and refreshes them. A Factory Reset (A.K.A. Shipping Condition) wipes the channel memories and starts again fresh.

If that doesn't solve it then it could be a problem of too much signal on certain strong channel groups (BBC and ITV). Your aerial is more sensitive at some frequencies, so there's more signal power higher up the frequency range. If ITV has been moved to where the aerial is stronger then it could be oversaturating the tuner.

I've lost all programmes except BBC on my TV and retuning makes no difference. The other 3 TVs in the house are all functioning normally

I expect there is a tv aerial signal problem as depending on your area, bbc and itv use different frequencies and signal loss could be the problem.

I have retuned my Panasonic HD TV as per your instruction which I printed out. Fine with ITV, Channel 5 and 5. BUT BBC 1 AND BBC 2 are fuzzy. Can you help please?

both of those channels are in anolog, so on todays tvs they are going to look that way, sorry , something you have to live with if the cable company puts them on a digital channel they will look better but not HD quality
