Adjusting Screen Brightness
The screen on the Kindle Fire uses more power than anything else, and the brighter the screen, the more battery power it uses. To increase battery life, you can lower the brightness of the display. Unlock the rest of this book. Swipe the status bar down to open the Settings drawer. Unlock the rest of this book. Tap Brightness. Unlock the rest of this book. Slide the brightness control to the right to increase brightness and to the left to decrease brightness.
Laptop screen is normally brighter when it is connected to the charge adapter. When the laptop is running on the battery it is usually a little dimmer to save battery power, you can adjust the screen brightness even on battery power. To adjust the brightness hold down the Fn key and press one of the function button keys it maybe the F7 or F8 key it will have a symbol on the key to indicate the screen brightness.
Right click the battery icon next to the clock on your taskbar. Select "Power Options" At the bottom, there is a slider for screen brightness. Slide it left to dim, slide right for brighter. If you want your laptop to automatically adjust the brightness based on whether it's plugged in or not, click "Change plan settings" next to the currently selected power plan (usually Balanced). On the new screen, there are 2 sliders. I would recommend setting the Plugged In slider to max and the On Battery slider to about 1/2 to begin with. Then adjust them to personal preference.
If your Notebook doesn't have a menu button or any sort of hard-wired option of adjusting to screen brightness, there are a couple of means to doing it in Windows.
First, if you have an NVIDIA card, you can go to the NVIDIA Control Panel in your Windows Control Panel. There should be an option in there that says Adjust Desktop Color Settings. You can increase the brightness from there.
If you don't have an NVIDIA Card, right click on the Desktop and goto Personalize. Click on Windows Color and Appearance, click on Show Color Mixer, then slide the brightness scale to make your screen brighter. Click okay and that should do it.

It would seem that backlight for your screen is out. The light may be dead, have a poor connection, or your brightness may be down to zero. To see if the brightness is just low hold the function button "FN" and if you look on the left and right arrow keys there should be a Sun on each one. The left being brighter or filled in, the right darker or hollow. Press the left key while holding the "FN" button. Keep doing this to increase the brightness. If the screen doesn't get brighter there is an issue with the backlight. This is usually covered under warranty. If you still have a warranty contact Acer and they should repair your computer free of charge. If it is not under warranty you may need to replace the screen.
press and hold the "blue" "fn" button (buttom left, second from left), as you press the F10 button and again untill you have the brightness you want.
But be avare, you use more power this way, whitch will result in shorter battery time.
