SOURCE: Regardless of the audio source I connect my Bose

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Yes Sir, as you have cross checked the audio so other possibilities have been ruled out, the only problem can be with your Head Phone unit, usually what happens is somewhere from inside the wire get cracked, or short resulting in noise or static, so the solution is to replace the wire, but the unit is a delicate thing so I'll never advice to D.I.Y.

I hope you have a clear picture now,
Regards, Waqar.

No sound from the Ipod jack side of the bose L1 system

There is no iPod jack side output (or headphone output) on any of the Bose L1® Systems.

If you are seeing an image that looks like an iPod, that is the iPod INPUT on the Bose Compact.

My right ear bud cuts out every time I move my head. I've only had this pair about six months.

It shows that there is a loose connection.

Take the item back to place of purchase and get a replacement. It should be under warranty.

Take care!

My QC2 headphones work intermittently at best. I believe it is the connection. It would not work with my ipad or with United's in-flight system on my last flight. This has been happening for some time.

Try plugging your headphones into other sources, like a computer's audio output or someone else's ipod/mp3 player.
If the problem persists, try moving the cable around near where it connects to the device (the jack) and see if you can get it to come on more often. Also try moving the cable near the headphones themselves, and at other points along the cable.
If you've had the headphones for a long time, it's more than possible that the cable is lose somewhere, and needs to be repaired.
Most common geeks will be able to fix this problem for you, so ask around if you know any.

I have Bose in-ear headphones with remote. I use them during my workouts and I think the sweat has damaged the remote that's on these headphones. The remote has stopped working and it erratically...

Ayish DX,

If you just want to get rid of the remote control functionality, you could simply replace the cord for your headphones. This may be a little difficult to do, but it is possible. Do keep in mind though that you have purchased a Bose product, and unless they have changed lately, they provide a lifetime warranty on almost all of their products. you may be able to send off for a replacement pair! if this is the case, don't make any modifications at all, as you will void the warranty.

The left ear phone broke and just dangles. Looks like part of the black plastic broke. Doesn't look fixable except by tape. Yuk. Tina

Take your headphones into the nearest Bose Audio store. Depending on the amount of time you have owned the headphones, you may be able to get a replacement or a discount on new headphones.

When I use the headphones listening to TV, I get the background sound (eg music) clearly but the dialogue is very low and drowned out by the background music or ambient sounds

It's because the TV's audio is stereo and the dialogue is mono split between two channels. When dialogue hits your headphones the majority of the mono signal gets cancelled. Try a different set of headphones or watch true stereo channels... IE movie channels
