The entire carriage lifts out using a good amount of lifting force. Slide your finger under the empty roll from the front of the dispenser. Apply upward pressure. You may be concerned that you will break the plastic roller, you won't. the entire carriage will pop up. When it does it's a simple matter to replace the old tape with a new roll. Snap the carriage back into place to use the new roll.

What makes duct tape stronger than scotch tape?

Duct tape is much stronger than scotch tape for a few reasons. The first being that it is generally wider than a roll of scotch. Also, duct tape is made using cloth and is even coated in polyethylene.

REFILL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCOTCH C60

You have to insert your finger under the empty reel from the back of the dispenser and pull up with your finger. You might think that it will break, but it takes force and it will not break if done properly.

Sony hi8 tape has snapped and I want to repair it as it has sentimental value?

If the tape snaps or cut itself, try to open the cartridge by removing the 4 screws on its sides and carefully attached something like a Scotch tape on each end to mend the video tape. Once done, it will play smoothly when you try to play it back on your sony Hi8 camcorder. I'm sure this helps because I am doing it when a client has torn tapes that needs to be transferred to dvd's. ^_^

I can't give you a refund, seeing that I don't work for Scotch, but you might have success if you go back to Costco, or if you call the Scotch company to complain about the lack of quality in their products.

Yikes, sounds like you had a bad paint job! I would try goof off the waterbased orange gel first.

Sounds like you may need to take a bit of the peeling paint to your local paint store and get them to match it. A chip at least the size of a quarter will help them. Then fill the chipped area's with Crack Shot filler and touch up.

I have a VHS tape that had the tape severed can I use regular scotch tape to repair?

Yes, but to minimize the possibility of tape head damage tape on the inside of the damaged tape (that is the side facing the cassete not the outward facing side) and trim the scotch tape slightly smaller then the tape so no scotch tape is exposed - note you still run the risk of head damage but I've done it many times b4 with no problem

Broken camcorder 8mm tape

Hi There, You can fix your tape yourself. 1- wind out tape from both sides of cassette. 2- cut both sides to form straight edges. 3- cut a small thin piece of clear scotch tape. 4- from cassette tape, put both sides together with recorded side facing down-- in other words you will be putting the scotch tape on the inside of the recorded tape. 4- line up the two ends and splice them together. - cut the excess scotch tape from the edges. Make sure there is no sticky stuff left there because if there is, it could rip out your video heads. The tape should only be played once and at that time, should be rerecorded to dvd or another media.
Hope this helps, mr cicmo

I have a Imation DC 6250 Data Cartridge where the tape has become detached form the spinlde therefore tape not winding. Any solutions?

Those cartridges can be disassembled (carefully) then re-attach the tape to it's original location with small piece of clear packing tape or even Scotch tape trimmed to same width as the mag tape.
