Question about HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer problems I am a school teacher and I think our printer died overnight, which is really not a good situation. I am trying to use a HP 1315 and not only will it not print, but now I can't turn it off. I have noticed that there is a orange exclamation point lit up on the front of the machine.

Not good, ma'am.

Try unplugging the power cord for 10 seconds.

Remove the toner cartridge, look for a jam.

Make sure the paper supply is pushed forward.

My hp 1315 printer is not showing anything on paper...


make sure that your ink cartridges are in correctly...you may have to push the cartridges in becasue mine are really stiff when trying to get them in or out...once it is happy it will print off a test page to show that it prints

you may want to look in best buy or any other store that sells hp printers...i still have my original cord though...so it may not hel pyou too much... good luck finding one!

Select your operating system and download the following:
Driver- Required
Applications- If you need them
Updates- If you have time, or want more security. I reccomend them.
Utilities- Required.

You also have the option of ordering another CD.

Check the power and the data (USB) cables in the printer...check both ends...
Check :-
# The printer powers on properly
# There also can be problems with the printer driver
# and also internal printers....
Try reinstalling the printer driver...

HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet Print Cartridge Error


Hello -
Did you perhaps not mean to post under the 1315? I am not sure if you have this printer or another model. The 1315 normally takes a different number ink cartridge.

Meanwhile - gotta tell you that the 1315 is the buggiest printer I ever had. If you purchased it recently and can find your receipt, I'd take it back! Since they've pretty much done away with the 1315, if it was a recent purchase, it was likely a clearance item from some place.

Try taking all the ink cartridges out, uninstall the printer entirely, and reinstall it (the entire printer, not just the cartridges). Blow your printer out with canned air as well - dust, pet hair, people hair, fuzz and general paper fibers can build up more than we think, and cause error messages and other printing problems.

That should help, if it was the 1315 model.

That being said, note that if it still doesn't work, and you have the 1315, save yourself a lot of grief and toss it in the trash and buy another cheap printer! 1315 is Bug City!

Doesnt seem to work


Do you have your printer connected by a USB port? Do you have several USB items on your system? (Printer, mouse, keyboard, etc etc) It is possible that your USB ports are overloaded and cannot process the information. That's what the USB hubs are for - those little ports that you can get for as cheaply as five bucks some places, up to big bucks for the heavy duty ones.... you can plug up to four USB items into the hub, then only ONE USB plug goes into your processor.

I am really not sure if that is the problem for you, but worth a try. Also, it is possible that the USB port you have it in is wearing out - try another one if your machine has them available. They do die.... if it powers up, it is likely that the port isn't dead, so I am thinking that it is just too much for your machine to process, and it is ignoring all other requests to that port.

(PS - when the 1315 dies, it is not worth resuscitating! It isn't HP's finest moment, and was their earlier attempt at an all-in-one. I found it to be more hassles than it was worth!)
