SOURCE: how do i fix my expression pedal on my digitech

I think it is controlled via a LDR instead of a pot. If you see a pot under the pedal then it may need a new pot but I believe they have a LDR, which is an LED/light controlled resistor system. Either of these can be fixed by an experience repairman.

LDR parts are available at SmallBearElec.com. It will require some soldering experience. Be sure to test the pedal's control circuity with a digital multimeter to be sure the problem lies within this area and not somewhere else.

SOURCE: My DigiTech RP90 expression pedal isn't working at

If you are getting no display after you try powering up properly check the plug end of the power supply with the supply plugged in with a volt/ohm meter. You should get a reading of 9volts. If you don't ,your power supply is not working. Sometimes the wire breaks where it goes into the supply and sometimes where it goes into the plug. Your power supply jack may be broken where it is soldered to the circuit board. If the unit has power you can do a factory reset. The procedure is on page 34 and 35 of the owners manual that you can download for free here:ftp://ftp.digitech.com/pub/PDFs/Manuals/RP90/RP90Manual18_0490_A.pdf Let me know if this helps.

SOURCE: my alesis sr-16 won't power

Likely the input rectifier and filter in the SR16 has shorted diodes or caps. Should be easy fix for a competent electronics tech.

When I power my Digitech RP350 guitar Effects Pedal comes on, them immediately shuts down.

Question edited for full 'make model (what it is)' and spelling.

Same answer as I gave you yesterday, but let me explain a little more fully. Electronic items like thins can only be diagnosed by opening them up and testing components. Do you know what a 'blown' or split capacitor looks like, or what a dry joint on a printed circuit board looks like and how to test? We they do and they also have as much as $10,000 of test equipment. There is no 'single reason' why this is happening to your unit, as it could be many things.

It seems to have issues and because of that was discontinued. Take it to your local music store, they will know an electronics engineer that they can recommend based on previous work.

My digitech rp 500 has power supply but it won't

Make sure you have the OFFICIAL Digitech power adapter. Universal adapters or those for MOST other pedals will NOT work... things may light up but you will NOT get audio. This unit requires an adapter supplying 9 VAC (not DC) at about 1 amp. These AC output adapters are not very common and people get the units without an adapter and try using universal adapters and they do not work. An AC adapter is used by Digitech so they can generate both plus and minus voltages internally. I don't know what your utility power voltage is in Cebu, so you need to get an adapter for your voltage that will give 9 VAC output and fit the power jack on the unit.

I'm trying to add a Digitech X Series EX-7

You CANNOT use the Voodoo as it outputs DC voltage and the EX-7 requires an AC voltage and of 9 VAC and also 1.3 amps at that.

The foot pedal (not the switches) on my "DigiTech RP90 Modeling Guitar Processor does not work...it will move but it changes nothing.

All DigiTech expression pedals use an optical system instead of potentiometers.

Either the light is broke, or the filter.

The filter protrudes from the bottom of the pedal, and is darker at the top and gradually fades to clear at the bottom. If this breaks off, then there's nothing to limit the amount of light to the optical system.

If it is the light, then you'll have to have it serviced by someone qualified to work on it. Your local music shop should be able to help you out.

Hope that helps!

When i select the wah pedal funtion, it does not make the wah

You are apparently talking about an FX pedal with a built in wah function. Which pedal and model number? The Digitech RP350 for instance has a special procedure for initializing and recalibrating the pedal. Is that the problem or is it maybe the opto isolator ?

Pedal Malfunction RP250

You will have to recalibrate your pedal. If you don't have your manual anymore try going to www.digitech.com. The procedure for the RP350 so that you don't lose your presets is : 1. Press and hold the UP/DOWN Footswitches until PDLCAL appears in the display (BYPASS,TUNER and EXIT will be displayed before PDLCAL is accessed after about 5 seconds). 2. When the display prompts you with TOEDN, rock the EXPESSION PEDAL forward (toe down) and press either FOOTSWITCH.
3. When the Display prompts you with TOE UP, rock the EXPRESSION PEDAL back (toe up ) and press either FOOTSWITCH.
4. The Display now prompts you to calibrate the V-Switch sensitivity (VSWxxx), where xxx is the current V-switch threshold. Rock the EXPRESSION PEDAL forward and press firmly on the toe once to turn the V-switch on (WAH ON) and again to turn the V-switch off (WAH OFF).
5. If the V-switch is too sensitive, press the right UP FOOTSWITCH to raise the threshold (range is 0-2000. Keep testing the V-switch sensitivity and adjust the threshold until it only engages when you want it to ( too sensitive a setting will lead to the V-switch falsely triggering on or off when using the Expression Pedal).
6.When the V-switch sensitivity is set to your satisfaction, press both UP/DOWN FOOTSWITCHES simultaneously to exit. NOTE: IF the DISPLAY shows ERROR, an error has occurred and steps 2 through 5 should be repeated. Sorry fo the caps but thats how the instructions appear in my sons manual. You can also dowload the manual and an editor librarian (for the 350 at least) at their site. They might even have an update for your pedal. Hope this helps. Keep playing.
