normally the door catch on washing machines have a switch attached to it ,if the door is not closed properly then the switch is not operated ,stopping the door lock light coming on
try slamming the door shut or check door catch for damage or hold /push and (hold )door shut to see if lock light comes on, if it does then the problem is door catch, adjustment or replacement only suggestions .good luck
Mike, you probably have a failed interlock...The latch which locks the door during the wash. It has an internal switch...That's why the machine wont start till the door is closed.....Most probable answer is to replace the interlock...If you want to do it yourself, you'll have to undo and refit the door seal...Or...It's not a big job for a tech...Good luck....Nomess
Hiya .. Is there a metal hinge catch on the washer, where the door catch closes to? If there is.. its either loose, or the catch on the door itself is loose, which is normally made of plastic, tighten these up, see if this eleiminates your prob
to test if there is a fault on your interlock you can close the door now with your hand bang it on the front of the washer were the door hits the catch most cases if it faulty than the washer will start it will then need replacing only thing you can do if faulty m8
