Hi there i have a htc and i have a laptop with no wireless card can i connecy my data cable to my phone to my laptop to gain internet thro my phone as a modem

Yes You can access internet in your laptop with the help of phone using a data cable or a Bluetooth device, you have not mention which model no. is your HTC Phone Device because to connect internet with the help of phone to a laptop your phone must have inbuilt mobile modem, and one more thing i want to add is that you'll be requiring driver and software of your phone while connecting it to your laptop.

Can i use my htc mini with a windows operating system as a wifi hot spot?

Hi Welcome to FixYa!
-Your HTC mini is capable of being a wireless router or wireless hotspot. -You could refer to this link to check that your phone is capable of being a wireless router: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_hd_mini-3163.php
For you to be able to use your phone as a Router, download the manual from this link: http://member.america.htc.com/download/web_materials/Manual/HTC_HD_mini/100318_HDmini_HTC_WWE_UM.pdf
Refer to page 195-197 for the information about your phone's wireless capabilities.
Hope this could help a lot!

I am currently using a wired Netgear RP614v4 Web Safe Router. I am thinking about purchasing a HTC smart phone that has WiFi connection. Would it be possible to purchase the WN802T v2 and plug it...

Yes you can piggyback off of your current router without any repercussions however it seems a bit un-necessary and a waste of power consumption (however minor it is) the WN802T also has the ability to wire itself to your desktop and are still behind a firewall equally as safe as the Netgear if not more so...

Hello my name is brian my problem is I have an HTC evo that is rooted I try to get the internet thru my wireless tether it obtains the ip address but won't connect to the internet gives me sms error...

Hi Brian.

80710102 is a dns server error.

Usually it's a router error.

Try rebooting your router.

Rooting your phone shouldn't cause any faults to your operating system as it just opens up your phone to allow apps and yourself access to files that are restricted to normal user/useage Root is just allowing the use of the "Super User"

Maybe even your internet service provider has been having issues too.

Try to connect to the internet via your laptop/pc and see if that works.

If your pc/laptop does not connect to the internet then it must be either a router fault or your network is down for some reason.

I hope this helps

Wireless Connection with a Laptop

Hi, I presume you have internet installed already.
Is it dsl connection you have or via a digital set top tv box, such as SKY or Virgin , I don't know which country you are in, but you will have to find a provider first.

All you need is wireless router and the first connections are :-
1/ Phone line to modem
2/ Modem to router
3/ Router to laptop ( This is a physical, temporary connection, while the wireless part is setup.
4/ Which ever router you buy, follow the instructions carefully

If you need more help, please ask.

Regards - Anthony

Hi i m not getting my phone with broadband net connection

For broadband you have to connect either with a LAN cable or USB cable to the PC or the WiFi way. LAN cable you cannot connect. USB cable connects to the PC and not the router. WiFi is the answer. If you have WIFi (wireless router) then all you have to do is to search for the WLAN and give the WEPkey when it asks for it. You can try to connect to the router thru USB cable if you can, I doubt, but there is no harm trying. If you do succeed, do let me know how you did it. I will spread the word around for you.
