How can I find out if my HP 515n already has card for wireless?

I've always had it wired to the DSL and now I'd like to use it in a place where there is no ability to have it hardwired.  Where on my computer will it tell me if it has the card (?)

To see what is installed on your windows XP machine.
Right click on "My Computer". Left click on "Manage". When the window pops up left click on "Device Manager".
This list will show you what hardware is detected by the Operating System.

Hope that helps.

I have a hp pavilion 515n desktop computer and was wondering how to get the password for the wifi.

Hi Ettajean,

The wireless password can be located either on the wireless router itself (if it's being provided to you by your ISP), or you'll need to log into your router to view/change your wireless password.

If you've connected to the wireless router before and simply need to recall the password, you can view it inside of Windows:

If you can post the model number of your router, I can provide you with some additional direction.

Hope this helps!

How do I increase FSB past its factory preset in my HP Pavilion 515n pc?

Some people, when their computer reaches the point that it can't run the programs it once used to, decide to toss their machine and invest in a new one. Others squeak out some extra life by overclocking their processors. While this is ideally done with hardware, for pre-built HP computers you will have to use a software option. With this minor exception, the process is still a breeze.

Download and install CPU overclocking software, such as ClockGen, SetFSB or SysTool (see Below). http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=189 http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Benchmarks/SetFSB.shtml http://www.techpowerup.com/systool/ While all these programs more or less work the same, for this guide we will be working with ClockGen. Boot the CPU overclocking software. Do not be alarmed if your computer momentarily slows down, as the software is reading your CPU's clock speeds. Click "PLL Control" or the equivalent in your overclocking software. This will show you several sliders for your front-side bus (FSB) and, in many cases, your PCI cards. Adjust the FSB slider. Be sure to do this slowly, as the processor will likely fail if there is a sudden speed change. For best results, use the arrows to slowly adjust the settings by one-to-two megahertz at a time. Click "Apply" frequently to set the speeds. Hope this helps.

My HP Pavilion 515n pc will not restart without pressing the F2 key, why?

Message was "press F2 to continue". This happens when there are errors in the boot up process like:

CMOS settings incorrrect
Date/Time incorrect
Missing drive

First to replace should be the CMOS battery inside the computer.

I have a hp pavilion a1140n and i cant set up wireless internet in my house what do i do

To have wireless internet you would need a (cable or DSL modem depending upon your ISP. A wireless router (doesn't matter which brand) Also for a desktop computer you will need to buy and install a wireless NIC (network interface card) as desktops almost never come with one, only a hardwired NIC (cabled)

Compaq SR1720NZ to wireless?

i believe the simplest way to do this is to buy a external USB wireless adaptor for your computer. thats saying that your dsl modem has a wireless signal being broadcasted already . if you dont have wireless built into your DSL or Cable modem, you will also need a wireless capable router to send it to your computer...
keep in mind that the wireless external network adapter could easily be used with ANY computer to connect wirelessly, so it's not limmitted to just your current hardware.

I have a Linksys router. 2. I have a Toshiba Satelitte Laptop, with a wireless card already built in. 3. I have internet access already on a desktop, but need it to be on my laptop as well! ( I need to...

assuming you have a wireless router, make sure you have purchased the correct one, as cable and dsl routers are different, as cable modems need to be connected to the router via a cable and dsl normally have a modem that can't be connected to a router, and you will require a modem/router.

You can only share a wireless connection when the line comes directly to the router and not through a pc, as the pc with the connection will have to always be on.

What do i need to connect wireless interent to my computer ??

If you already have a cable /dsl internet and also a wireless router , you just need to get a wireless card for your computer that will serve as a wireless receiver so you will be able to get online wirelessly on that computer but if you don't have a wireless router you also need to get one, You ca check this model number for the wireless adapter WUSB54GC and for the router WRT54G....

Hope that helps...........

Wireless card

Not all pc come with a network card installed on them

1.check the back of your pc to see if u will see a port with about 8 tiny pins-that is the network port and it should be working fine.if not you need to buy one by yourself .

2.if you see any with abt 3-5 pins that is a modem port for internet connection thru the telephone.

note that the network card could be among the port mounted on the motherboard or it could be a stand alone adapter.
