Printer keeps reinstalling when using docking station

I have a Sony Vaio laptop and docking station......when I put the laptop back into the docking station it seems to partly reinstall the printer (HP C4280). I have to go through the final stages of the HP set up including register online etc and eventually I have copy version of the same printer and need to make this the default in order to print. It's just very frustrating and have tried deleting and reinstalling the software but nothing changes it....HELP?
