SOURCE: when i turn on my

Hi tokyo_grl,
First you have to figure out what is causing the problem. Try the following steps.

1. Remove anything that is connected to the PSP, including the
Memory Stick, battery and any UMD games.
2. Plug the charger into both the wall and the PSP system, then wait for at least 30 seconds before turning the psp on.
--If the PSP turns on, your problem is not with your PSP, but with an accessory that was previously attached.If it does not turn on, your PSP is in need of a repair.
3. Next, unplug the power adapter from the PSP, and firmly place the battery into the PSP.
4. Plug in the Power Adapter once again, and wait at least 30 minutes for the PSP to begin charging, then try and power on the PSP system.
--If the PSP does not power on with the battery plugged in, but it did with just the charger, you need a new battery. If it powers on, do the next step.
5. Place the Memory Stick inside the PSP , and turn on the power. If the PSP does not turn on, but it turned on without the memory, you need a new memory stick.

If your PSP did not turn on during step 2, your PSP is bricked and indeed needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

SOURCE: psp unit just stop comming on

Hi I am having the same problem, but it could be really really bad news. The same thing happened me when I was asked to update the software. And my psp crashed during the install. So because of it the flash memory in it is no corrupt so it wont switch on, oh and Sony wont cover the memory through the warranty. I believe the term for it is psp brick, and unfortunately there is no fix for it unless you are very clever and add new flash memory to bypass the old one.

Only green led and not booting psp 1004

Disconnect the battery, reconnect and switch it on whilst holding down both top two corner clear buttons. It should restart in recovery mode. Toggle down and select RECOVERY folder, then select. If this folder is corrupted you will have to get a copy off of the internet and replace it using the usb connector. This usually does the trick, if it will not start in recovery mode, it's a SONY job..

Good luck

Psp green light on, but no booting or anything. its not a fault of Software... its Hardware for Sure! any help?

Hello

If the green light comes on, but the unit won't power up, you could have a battery problem.

Clean out the battery compartment. Use a can of compressed air to remove dust, hair and other debris. If you left the battery in while you stored the unit, look around the connectors for any sign of corrosion that could be affecting the connection.

Plug the PSP into the power adapter with the battery still inside. If this doesn't work, remove the battery and see if the PSP powers on with the adapter only. If it does, then the battery likely needs to be replaced.

Boot the unit in recovery mode. The PlayStation Portable is like a small computer with a tiny hard drive. And just like a computer, sometimes it gets scrambled; booting in recovery mode can help you identify or correct the problem.

Determine if your PSP has been "bricked." If the PSP was turned off for any reason during a firmware update, it can cause "bricking," so named because it renders your PSP into a useless, plastic brick. Buying a new PSP or sending yours to Sony for repair are your only options if this has occurred.

Hi there. Try doing this;
1. Turn off your PSP (long press switch). 2. Press and hold "R" while switching on your PSP and you'll boot into Recovery Menu 3. Scroll down to "UMD Mode" and press "X" until the value changes to "S0NY NP9600" 4. Go back and exit to boot your PSP in game mode...
I hope this helped...

Psp power indicater lights up green but does no turn on.

Hi.
It's probably bricked (dead). We need to know what's your last activity before it bricked. Mostly, bricked PSP is due to interruption during firmware update. Or when you install a CFW (Customized Firmware) by using ChickHen.
If your PSP is the slim type, you need to know what type of Motherboard it has. You will be lucky if you don't have a PSP with TA088v3 MoBo. Since you can no longer turn on your PSP, you will have no chance knowing the MoBo. But this procedure below is worth the try;
1.) Turn off your PSP by pressing the power button at least 10 seconds and green light is gone. 2.) While turned off, do one of the following until you boot into Recovery Mode;
a.) press the "R" button and hold it while pressing the power button. b.) press both "L" and "R" button and hold it while pressing the power button.
3.) If you are successful booting your PSP into recovery mode, google on how to recover your flash0 file...

When I turn it up, only the green light comes and stays for about 10 seconds, no display or sound. what can i do?

I guess your PSP is bricked. Have you done either of the following;
1.) Update PSP Firmware and interrupted it before it finished 2.) Installed a Custom Firmware (CFW) to play homebrew (games in Memory Stick)
If yes, it's certain that your PSP is bricked. There are easy ways to unbrick your PSP depending on your PSP version and MotherBoard. If you need help in unbricking your PSP, please give the following detail;
1.) Slim or Phat 2.) PSP Version (1000, 2000, 3000) 3.) MotherBoard (if available)
If you have known your MoBo to be a TA088v3, consider bringing it back to S0ny for MoBo replacement or have it replaced if you can buy one. Consider a new MoBo that is not a TA088v3 like TA085 or TA088v2 because these boards have recovery menu when installed with CFW.

Ok so my psp is not turning on the battery is fully charged the green light turns on for acouple of seconds then turns off any tips

Hmmmm... I guess we have a bricked PSP here...
First, I should be right with this - either you tried to install a Custom Firmware (ChickHen) or you were updating and something went wrong.
In order to UNBRICK your PSP, we need to know the following;
1. Your PSP make (Slim or Phat) 2. Your PSP Motherboard (if available)
However, try doing this as this might work if you have a Motherboard that can be recovered from bricking;
1. Press and hold "R" while switching on your PSP. 2. If your PSP boots on into a "Recovery Mode", you're a lucky guy 3. Scroll down to "Run Program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP" and do the rest to recover your PSP's firmware.
Get back if you still have a dead PSP.

PSP - blank screen, yet green light is on.

What is your firmware version? Are you using CFW or OFW?
There is a problem in your update that could have trigger some of your flash0 files it is where your firmware files are placed. Or maybe your firmware does not support Crisis Core : Final Fantasy 7?
If you are on CFW (Custom Firmware). Try loading the recovery menu in boot set-up. Just turn off your psp (not in sleep mode). Leave it for a second or two, then turn on your psp while holding the R trigger. If you are able to load the recovery menu, then you are semi-bricked. If not, only black screen then you are fully-bricked. You will not a PANDORA kit, with a pandora battery and magic memory stick to unbrick your psp.
