Sony XAV-77 request pin code to unlock after loss of power

- SONY DVD monitor XAV-77 requesting lost PIN CODE. The manual has been lost. Sony answer is to take it to their repair shop and be charged for product support. Apparently its a serious of command keys from the remote and the unit itself. These series of command will unlock or clear the internal memory of the unit and make way for another, they are just not willing to give it. If I could get intructions on what keys to press that would be great.

I tried the master password 4357, and that didn't work, it came up with "Code Error" message after i pressed enter. Awaiting further instructions.

I'm still unable to unlock my SONY XAV-77 in-dash monitor(Car Audio) after changing DVD player and unplugging The power. Code for unlocking has been lost a long time ago. Its a Four Digit Master Pin to Unlock the unit.

I've tried the master password 4357, and that didn't work, it came up with "Code Error" message after i pressed enter.

I've also tried 1589,5898, 1103, and 1034 from this five digit pin a member forwarded (15898,11034) Please Help.

This unit has only got four segments to enter the pin. If you move forward one to the next digit after enter the first four digits it just comes back to the first one. I have also tried 0000, 1111, 2222, 3's and so forth all the way to 9999 and it still wont open. The original installer 3 years ago don't keep records of such pins we've tried already, and Sony won't give the product support necessary. Awaiting further instructions.

Its in a 2004 Honda Integra, as for the serial number its has been installed for 3 years. I'll have a look. Is there a master code to unlock?

- Sony Australia Product support is not willing to hand out the code for free. They've adviced me to take it to their repair shop to be charged $80 to reset the unit. The code is a four digit pin and even if I press the reset button on the unit it still request the code or reset pin. The pin was in the original manual which has been misplaced. Does anyone know what the master reset pin is?
