My brush will not turn why?

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Your Royal's brushroll is connected to the motor by a belt. Over time, the belt's grip wears down and stretch out losing the grooves and tension that turn the roller. Replacing the belts is a crucial step in your unit's maintenance. Belts should be replaced every 6 months at least.

Location of reset button on Royal Ry9750

I don't believe it has a reset button but has an internal thermal sensor which shuts the motor off if it gets too hot. It will come back on when it cools down.

Does the roller turn freely? If its doesnt this would put strain on the belt in excess of whats normal.

I need to replace the belt. What is the part # for the belt?

Hi,

The part number is 1-JR0090-000 and it is style 18.

You can get them at a reasonable price at this website: http://www.vacuumsweepershop.com/royal-belt-18.html

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Handie Andie

I have an old Royal upright & can't get the roller off. It was not going around & I was trying to see what was going on. The belt still seems OK.

The belt may seem okay, but if it has stretched too much to get a good grip, it will slip around the shaft and/or brush. Replace it and see if that helps.

My dogs hair often accumulates in the spinning rod

Try spinning it by hand with no belt. If it is tight, dismantle the bearings at the end and clean out the hair . If it is loose then the problem is likely that your belt has stretched, Buy 2 genuine belts and keep a spare on hand. For best cleaning results , replace every 3- 4 months ( broken or not) , if you have a lot of pet hair
