After installing new ATI HD4670 video card on my Gateway zx6810 I boot system hear no beeps computer powers on but screen is black

Hello

Is this new video card the only video source on the PC (i.e. there is no other VGA connections on the PC)?

Without knowing the make and model of the PC, I will list the most common issue when replacing the video card in a PC.

1. Connect the monitor to each available VGA connection and boot the computer - to see if any VGA output is working

2. When you find a working VGA output, go into BIOS and change the VIDEO settings to either allow BOTH the onboard and add in video OR allow the add in video only. Save the changes and turn the computer off.

3. Move the video cable to the add in video card, turn the computer on and see if the BIOS is using the new Video card

Find out if you have more than one monitor connection on your computer.
Look at the back of your computer for two Video Graphics Array (VGA) connectors or Digital Visual Interface (DVI) and VGA.

If there is a VGA unused connector, plug in the other monitor there.
Purchase and install a video card if you don't have a second connector available. Make sure

Windows XP or newer software installed on your computer can support a new video card and dual-view features.

Any Nvidia GeForce VGA DVI SVID card is good if you have PCI slot available (or ATI Radeon DVI VGA S video card for AGP slot).

Install the video card into the slot on your computer and the driver provided with the card. If you don't know much aboutcomputers, find assistance from a local computer retailer that offers computer upgrade services.

Connect your second monitor using VGA cable. Restart your computer to detect the new monitor.

Adjust your display settings. Right click on the desktop > select "Properties" >click on "Settings" tab >locate your second monitor on the drop down menu> select "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" options> click "Apply" or "OK."

Drag the monitor icons to arrange them in the same way as the monitors on your desk. Click the "Identify" monitors button to verify which monitor is 1 and which monitor is 2.

Now you have a second monitor set up through the VGA output.

im assuming you can get a screen to check the video card

Click the Windows orb logo at the bottom of the desktop to show the start menu.
Click the "Control Panel" from the menu to open a window.

Type "troubleshooter" in the search box in the top-right corner of the window. Click the "Troubleshooting" link that appears in the center of the window in the search results.
Click "View All" in the left pane of the window.

Click "Display Quality," and Windows will begin checking the computers video card adapter. Monitor the screen, answer the questions and follow the instructions if a problem and solution are given by Windows.

hope this helps

Hello ghinea18, sorry you can't do that because this will cause hardware conflict, that's why motherboard bios automatically disable integrated graphics if you install video card using pci express x16 slot - Nvidia GeForce 7300SE. do you know if your video card has dual vga or dual dvi connection?

You can try dual display, im not sure if this card supports dual monitors because nvidia online specs does not show full specs on 7300se series. \

Good Luck!

Black Screen after installing new NVidia 9400GT

Put the old card back in, remove the old drivers and restart it in VGA mode.
You don't say what operating system you use, but XP & Vista you should be able to hit F8 before the windows splash screen to select VGA mode or Safe Mode.
Once you do that you should be able to put the new card in and start it in standard VGA mode then load the new drivers.

How do i physically connect a second monitor to my AX300, do i need an adaptor for the socket on the back of the card?

There are several ways to do this.

If one or both of your monitors have a DV/I or DV/D (digital) interface, try to use those instead of VGA (analog) connectors.

Lowest cost: If your computer has a DV/I connector, you could obtain a splitter in order to connect two monitors via VGA.

If you don't have a DV/I interface on your computer, you must install a second video card into the computer. Purchase a card with dual monitor ports (one DV/I and one VGA --or -- dual DV/I).

You could also install any video card with a single monitor port.
