TV will not display picture or sound except for 1 station which appears to be 440. I can't change the channel either at the dials or remote. The display says EAS.

DONT USE the remote that came with your TV

use the buttons on the box to change the channel. did the channel change?

usually when someone only has one channel its because they are changing the tv channel not the cable box channel

think of it like this:
the TV is a monitor and should always be on the same channel (3, 4, hdmi, or whatever) its actually the box that tunes and the tv always stays on the same channel.

so if you change the tv channel you are no longer watching the output of the cable box.

USE the remote supplied by your cable provider

How to change input on tv without a remote

Which TV do you have? Some will have an Input or Source button on the front panel. A few will have an option to change the source from the menu. Both of these options require the front panel lock to be inactive.

A few older TVs allowed you to find the A/V input by pressing Channel Down on the front panel buttons until you passed channel 2 (or Channel Up until you nearly reached Channel 2). This option wouldn't work if the A/V inputs had been deleted when someone minimized going through unused channels.

If the Source or Input button was only available on the remote, you will need a universal remote that includes this feature. These cost a bit more than the lowest end remotes. Then you will have to try all of the codes to find the one that makes the Source button work with your TV. (Several codes may work for On/Off but not the change input.) The Universal remotes that can be programmed from a computer (USB connection) will be the easiest to set up. may have a replacement original or substitute remote for your TV that should work for all of the TV functions.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the TV make and model for specific options for your particular TV.

Can't get "no signal" off

Hey cthaemar, it sounds like it may have been switched off the correct channel. If it is hooked up with a Coaxial cable it will be on channel 3 or 4, and if it is hooked up with an AV cable then it would be on one of the inputs.

If it's channel 3 or 4 try pressing the gray TV button on the remote and changing the channel. If that doesn't work you may need to use the TV's remote or the TV itself.

If it's on an input press the same gray TV button and then try pressing Input. With this you can also try the TV remote or the TV itself to change those if our remote doesn't change it.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

My DVR is recording programs I have not selected and programs that I have recorded are being deleted by User 2 when that TV is not on and the remote is stored in a drawer. I have change the channel for...

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. Icame across your post recently and wanted to see if I could help. It soundslike your TV2 remote is going to need to be readdressed. It could be possiblethat your TV1 and TV2 remotes are on the same frequency and remote address oryour TV2 remote may be on the same frequency as another remote in a nearby homeor apartment. I would like to list here for you the instructions on changingyour remote address so that it no longer experiences interference. This shouldbe an easy fix for the issue you are experiencing. I hope this works for youbut if it does not or you have any further questions or concerns about thisissue or any others feel free to email me at and Iwill be happy to help. :)
Instructions for readdressing TV2 remote

  1. Take TV2 remote to TV1 location (in front of the receiver)
  2. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by either pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box or by pressing the power button once then the channel up button once on the front of the receiver. (You may need to open the little door on the front right side of the receiver box)
  3. Once you are in the system info screen you will see primary remote address(TV1) and secondary remote address(TV2). For your particular situation you will locate TV2
  4. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  5. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the white square.
  6. Press the pound (#) button
  7. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 5 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Dish network changed to snow when I tried to change station to channel 13. I pressed "power" for 5 seconds with no change.

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service here. It sounds like when you try to change channels with your remote, it is changing the channels on your TV and not your Satellite Receiver. In the top left corner of the Dish Network remote is an SAT button. When you try to change channels on the Satellite receiver this button should be lighting up. If the TV button lights up, it means the remote is working the TV. Press and release the "SAT" button after you have the picture back on the TV and it should work normally. I hope this resolves your remote issue!

Cannot access channel 73 on TV2

If you are unable to access the TV menu using the buttons on the TV itself it is possible you can with the TV2 remote if it still controls the volume etc. for this TV. If it doe not you will need to find a code for your set in the manual for the receiver or you can go to the following link to find that info as well.
Assuming you have control of the volume still press the small TV button on the top left of the remote. Now press the menu button and you may be able to access the TV's menu. If so you need to run a channel scan/auto program the TV. You may need to use the buttons on the TV still to maneuver through the menu.
If you are still unable to access the menu you may need to purchase a universal to access the menu.

Cant get the tv to change from aux to reg channels

depending on the tv, some tv's you can change the input by channeling up and down. others you have to push an "input, tv/video, source or a/v" button. some tv's have this button on the tv itself (try that) or try the button on the remote. make sure you are using the remote that came w/ the tv. (because if you have a satellite remote, some satellite remotes the input button has to be programmed seperately) the problem is not exactly clear if you could be more specific steps that you are taking to try to change the input to the regular channels. i may be able to help better

Guide listings are incomplete

1. Manually scan all channels on your TV with your TV remote and write down the channels and network shown:
(sample: 119.2 C-SPAN2 digital channel).
2. Go to Edit Channels and find the icon for C-SPAN2 (about icon 261 in my zip code). Manually change the channel from Off to On, Insert the frequency, and optionally insert the number you want the channel to show in your channel listing ( or move it manually later).

I have about 10 to add each time I reset my recorder.
