Download the Program you want to talk to your friends with: Windows Live, Skype, MSN, Yahoo, etc.. Install the program of your choice (or the one your friends use) and you will come to a point in the installation where you set up your web-cam.
connect you cam and install the driver for your cam and if you have any messenger installed login to your messenger and start your web cam. if you don't have internet connection for offline testing you can use msn messenger. Go to tools and options and web cam !!!!
It doesn'tworkwithmy old webcam, but this is no problem for me. ... has disappeared and is no longer possible (online, offline, SkypeOUT, not authorised) ...share.skype.com/.../12/skype_20_beta_free_video_calli.html
You have chosen to activate the Yahoo! Messenger webcam service, which will enable you to view and transmit video images through your computer. Yahoo! provides webcam as an enhancement to the Yahoo! Messanger communication platform. Yahoo! does not screen or control users or content transmmitted through any of the Yahoo! Messanger features. Use of the yahoo! Messenger service is subject to the yahoo! Terms of Service. Yahoo!, in its sole discretion, may terminate your Yahoo! ID immediately and without notice if yahoo! believes you have violated or tried to violate our Terms of Service. The "Report Abuse" feature generates a messange to Yahoo.that may include text, images, or information related to potential misuse of our system. Use of yahoo! Webcam indicates your consent to the above-described terms and conditions.
When you mean "send videos", did u meant video conferencing with your friends? If that's the case, are you using skype or yahoo messenger to do video conference? Try running the Camera Assistant Software, it's an application by toshiba to view your cam offline (no internet needed). If that doesn't work, try re-installing the software. You can find it here. If you can use that software & can see yourself on the offline webcam tool but not on your third party software, try the "Roll Back Driver" option (Device manager > Imaging Devices > your_webcam > properties > driver > roll back driver)
i hv HP dv6000 and facing same promlem. B.coz its my field, so I tried myself to solve it.
Then I found that: If I try to use cam after using it in QuickPlay then it will not work.
So to work with web cam in yahoo messanger, just re-boot your lap and then (don't try to use it with any another software like QuickPlay etc), just goto Yahoo Messanger and use it, atleast it will work first time after boot.
