I tougth it is better if you replace your TFT in one package. Too much time to be cost if you try to fix the backlight. But you can try this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4v20PyomuU after you sure that your backlight is the problem by installing another undefected TFT

Hi Cynthia: Not sure what brand name your camera is, but I found this using a simple google search. The picture is the same, but as you must be aware there are several manufacturers along with numerous brands...Hope this helps....Best.....James

The way the symptom was explained, the problem is with the LCD panel itself. Lines on screen are cause by some factors such as tft's or the control flexible contact that attached to the panel might become loose overtime, the flexible can be repaired but not at service station level. You will need to visit authorized sharp service station to have a look and get concrete diagnosis. they can decide whether the lines are repairable or not.
