A slide got stuck in the projector, and when I took it out the projector just died. No power. Any ideas about what's happened? Thanks

If this is a Kodak Slide Projector, there are 2 thermal fuses (1 is in the motor and NOT replaceable and 1 is in the area of the lamp). Almost ALL Kodak projectors had 2 thermal fuses as described. You need to determine the model, as that will determine which fuse or motor assembly you will have to buy & install to fix your projector. If its a Kodak, let me know the model and I can help you further! You can buy parts for Kodak projectors at: www.micro-tools.com.
Good Luck! Jim

I'm using an acer aspire laptop and a viewsonic projector. projector colors and disply works fine with an xbox bt when i se my laptop, the projector screen goes red. is it the settings on the comp

Make sure you have all drivers and software necessary for the projector installed on your laptop. You can find them on viewsonic's website. Also go to Control Panel>Display>Connect to a Projector and insure all settings are correct. Let me know if you run into problems.

Can hear sound but cannot see picture

Hi, if your LCD projector turns on and projects light with sound but not the picture on your computer screen, first make sure the projector is plugged into your computer. If it is, check your computer display settings. Go to "Control Panel" and "Settings" or "Windows Setup." Select "Display." Make sure it's set to appear on your laptop screen and the the projector screen. Most laptops have a "Fn" key dedicated to changing the output display setting.

If your projector turns on but emits no light or picture, replace the projector's bulb, often called the lamp. Most have a life of between 2,000 and 6,000 hours. Your projector may warn you when the lamp life is about to expire, although some models simply stop working when the lamp needs replacing.

Thank you.

How do I angle the projector at the side of a screen & get the screen view of it straight?

In projector menu you will find a setting called 'keystone correction'. Use horizontal and vertical keystone correction to correct the projected image.

My screen is yellow with grainy lines. I replaced the bulb (after only 776 hours), but the problem persists even with the new bulb. Is there another part inside that may need replacing instead?

The organic polarizers can get burnt by the bright light after a long time. The blue one is most susceptible and results in a yellowing of the projected image.
You can see if it's damaged when the optics unit is dismantled.

My Windows XP is connected to my Epson Powerlite S3, but the screen is blue with the words Source: Computer (Auto) No Signal on it. When I click "Help" on the projector, it takes me to a screen...

'No signal' and 'unsupported signal' messages mean 1 of 2 things, either the VGA output is off(laptop) or the display resolution is set too high(laptop and desktop). Assuming the VGA cable you are using is good, try this:

Desktop: hook the computer back up too your computer monitor & set the computer to the basic VGA resolution. For windows XP, right click a blank area on the desktop, click 'properties' on the dropdown menu, click settings. Write down the numbers in the 'screen resolution' and 'color quality' boxes!

Drag the 'screen resolution' all the way down to then 'less' side. Then change the 'color quality' to the lowest setting. Click apply, then answer yes (the display will look UGLY - don't worry!!) Now connect your computer back to your projector. If it works, then the resolution you use on your desktop monitor is not supported on your projector. Experiment with different resolutions to see which one looks best on your projector. You will need to change the settings each time you switch monitor to projector.

Laptop: by default the VGA connector on your laptop is off. To turn it on, look for a blue symbol on one of your function (F1, F2, F3...) keys. It looks like an old TV with a line on both sides 'O' (F4 on HP) Press & hold the blue button (on the lower left of the keyboard, usually to the left of control ) and tap the bleu button you just found. Let go & give you're a computer a few seconds to change over. If the laptop screen goes blank, you found the correct button! The display image should now be visible. Repeat this 1 to 2 times to change it back to laptop display.

If you did not see the display on the projector, 2 other issues are possible. First, verify that the VGA output on the laptop is working - connect the laptop to a regular computer monitor & change the display resolution to the lowest settings (see desktop above), then try it again on the projector. If you cannot get an image on a computer monitor, your laptop settings may need to be adjusted in the same dialogue box as the settings. Monitor #1 is the laptop display, Monitor #2 is the external output.
Happy viewing :)

How to get rid of little blue dots on lower left of screen pansonic et lae500 projector - will they go away when I get a new lamp?

This is most likely caused by dust in the optics - you will to remove the cover and vacuum inside - I would recommend against dismantling any of the optics in case you cannot align it again correctly.
