Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My sister gave me a Palm M125 and have read the accompanying documentation which does not include or say anything about connection to a desktop computer running on Windows XP Service Pack 2. When I tried to link my handheld device to my pc, the desktop insists on installing the required drivers for a new device (my Palm M125). I tried looking for Windows XP drivers for my handheld from www.palm.com but to no avail. How do I get my XP desktop to work with my handheld? Please help!

Older palm products and vista aren't compatible. You either needs to transfer info via bluetooth or upgrade your palm if you wish to continue using vista.

My 7135 kyocera is locked to verizon service i need the code to unlock so that i can use the phone with my current service provider, the phone is a gift my sister the previous owner

All you need to do is install palm desktop. This should have been included with the CD in your package. If for some funny reason it is not, go to here.

But don't forget to plug in the USB/Serial cable (whichever you prefer to use), then, select USB or serial after installing palm desktop (just right click the HotSync manager and if your choice isn't selected, go ahead and do so).

Hope this helps!

Palm pilot not syncing while in cradle

You can try cleaning the contacts on both the palm and the cradle. For the Palm itself you can try a small pencil eraser.
For the cradle a little isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab works well.
Do examine the palm socket closely, sometimes the socket is damaged and may recess into the unit so it cannot seat properly

Inbox messages syncing mysteriously

Turn off the conduit. It sounds like you dont want the Mail to synchronize at all. You can set the Mail or VersaMail conduit to Do Nothing permanently if you would rather not have mail synchronizing. Go to HotSync icon in your system tray and click on it. Select Custom... Make sure your username is selected and then choose the mail conduit. Set it to Do Nothing and ensure you check the box 'Set as Default'
