Question about Acer Aspire 4720 Notebook
My laptop starts normally, windows vista logo appears on it, but then desktop is not displayed & instead a black screen appears with cursor
i repaired it with vista cd but the problem is not solved, i did system restore but still the problem persists
The Acer Recovery CDs do not set the Boot flag on the hard drive. I had to manually set the boot flag to on using GPARTED Live. After restarting using the GPARTED CD, you can manage the flags under the partition drop down and click on the Boot flag. After exiting GPARTED, I rebooted the laptop and no more black screen....fixed!!
I hope this helps others.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
